Anyone know of any website that has nice cover scans of laserdiscs (esp. back covers)? I can find plenty of dvd covers but lasers are proving elusive.
I've just re-started transfering some of my lasers to dvd and want to make custom covers for them. Taking pictures myself ain't working none too well.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Or if you've seen any of these, please hook up a link:

Menace II Society Criterion
Dead Presidents Cri.
Nightmare on Elm St. Elite SE (got the front)

Cheers,
BDH

No idea, but I'll move this into the Laserdisc forum anyway

I was gonna post it here at first, but figured I might get more hits in OT. :p
Maybe I'll take my lasers to get professional pictures taken. :D
I keep looking and keep finding NOTHING. :(

I have no clue. The only site that even comes close is the Laserdisc Database (http://japanld.free.fr/laserdisc.php?id=36347).

That is a sweet site I came across eariler, but forgot to bookmark. I can tell I got I my Nigtmare on Elm Street scan there by the tilt of the elite logo. :)
Of course they don't have any pictures of Menace or Dead, and nobody's slangin' em on ebay now or recently either. :(
Time to experement with the camera it seems...., but my neighbor does have a scanner and said I can use it anytime. Yeah booiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! :D

I was wondering about a scanner, which seems like it would eliminate the potential glare spots/soft focus that a head-on camera shot would produce from a glossy laserdisc jacket. However, how would you scan something bigger than the scanner bed itself, speaking from the flatbed scanner side of things of course?

My scanner died long ago, so I am out of the loop. Do flatbeds scanners have the ability to piece together two separate scans for one image that is too large to scan all at once? If that makes any sense....

I might try this sometime....

That's about what I was gonna do, but probably without measurements. I was guessing 4 corners that I'll just piece it together with pictureIt or photoshop.
Neighbor ain't home and Pistons are on now though, maybe tomorrow.

If I put a little more time into this I could make it better, but not bad for a fast first try with just 4 corner scans. The bottom ended up slightly on tilt. Marks across commentary tracks are inserted since I'm not advanced enough to bring them in (yet), so they ain't on the dvd. :)

Pretty boring back cover, maybe I'll make it an insert instead. :)

Jeez, this thread makes me miss the days when we had LD's like DEAD PRESIDENTS Criterion. Too bad they don't get to handle as many titles now (especially contemporary ones).
