Wow, this is great! I'm hopin' the prices are going to be comparaible w/ DDD.com. I know that when Amazon.com has a sale, amazon.ca doesn't usually have the same one.

Good news for those of us in the US who want some CA releases but don't want to pay the extra $$$ on Amazon.ca.

Wow! Fucking amazing, if they have sales as well and actually offer prices that compare to the US site, not just lowest in Canada, I'll never stop using it.

Great! I always meant to order more from DDD but never did due to stupid Customs charges. If this site is as good as the US one, I'll be using it a lot.

Site is live!
They are in Brampton, Ontario so Ontario customers will get nailed for both taxes. Free shipping thought!
Too bad their prices are too high. Still cheaper to order from the US site.

yes, it will still be cheaper to order some of the items from the US, even if we have to pay duty. And you US people who want Canadian releases are out of luck, they won't ship to the US

Too bad their prices are too high.
Sure, some aren't that cheap, but I've found a tonne that are a helluva lot cheaper than if I had got them anywhere else online or ordered them in from a local store.

976-Evil, The Class of Nuke 'Em High box set, among others. I browsed for about 2 mins. Anyway, I live in Sask too, so our local Future Shop and what not don't carry more than only the Hollywood stuff. It's hard to get the latest horror releases (besides the Hollywood ones) here. Unlike Ontario, where you are from, I'm sure the closest Future Shop (or even Best Buy [we don't have one]) will have a lot more of the stuff I'd like to see at our store, because there is a way bigger population in Ontario, so there is more demand for the Blue Undergrounds, and the Anchor Bay horrors, and Code Red's, and even the Troma DVD's.

Yeah the prices don't look that great. I think I'll stick with DVDpacific for now great prices and I've never gotten charged Duty.

I know what you are saying - but even if you take into account the shipping, it's still cheaper to buy most of those titles from DDD USA.

Yep, DDD Canada is a bust, I kinda figured it would be.
EDIT: Just to not come down so hard on them, they do offer the lowest prices I've seen in Canada, but it just makes no sense to not offer the same deals as their American site, I mean, we're ordering online with a credit card already, the only difference will be in shipment time. With that being said, there are some titles on there as cheap as the American site or cheaper, so I just may order some just to check it out. I also use Columbia House, so I can get a lot of titles for a very cheap average price (sometimes even killing DDD sale price), so I'm hard to please.

I placed an order on some things that are the same price or cheaper than DDD USA and I got a shipping confirmation, but it doesn't show any open orders on the actual website, so I guess even though it's DDD Canada, it's still DDD. ;)

I really don't know why any of you who live in Canada bother with anything but DVD pacific. It has the best prices a great stock, fast dispatch, fair shipping ($3 for 1st DVD $1 for additional) and they mark down the packages so you don't get caught at customs (just make sure you pick the cheapest shipping option, my friend ordered a faster airmail option and got charged) I have ordered 5 at a time and they still mark the package under the magic $20. Just try not to order more then 5 at once. The only draw back is that the cheapest shipping option takes two weeks to arrive but I have ordered from them at least 20 times and never once got charged customs even ordering the blind dead collection.

I've never used DVDPacific. I think I checked them out a few years ago and found their prices high... maybe it's time to give them another look.

Trust me put any movie in dvdpricesearch.com and their price will be the best or close to it. (set up the preferences for shipping to Canada)

Why use DDD and not DVDpacific? I think many people are like me. Funds are limited, I do not order on an ongoing basis. I only ever order on-line when DDD has their big 20% off sales, when they do I make a BIG purchse. At 20% off, no one can touch 'em. Plus even when shipping to Canada from the US, they only charge $4.95 for the whole order. So even if I get 40 discs, it's only $4.95

Yes that would be fine is they didn't mark the actual cost of the DVD's on the customs form costing you an arm and a leg. I guess if you were buying 20 or more at a time it may make sense. If your buying 1-5 at once though DVDpacific is the way to go. How much do you usually get charged at costums when you buy 40 DVD's?

I may try them sometimes, I just prefer to stick with DDD so they have references that I've ordered there during sale times (last time I didn't have an order with them and I struggled to get it put through for some reason).
On a side note, I got my first order today from DDD Canada, but one title was missing. It was shipped with Xpresspost, and I didn't upgrade, maybe they upgraded free because I got one of those 50 movie sets, but why my other normal DVD didn't come with it is beyond me.

I'm not an on-line shopper. I've only ordered once or twice from the internet, but with my luck, I'm bound to get nailed with customs charges. Then I'd be pissed....
Hence the reason I made a purchase at DDDCanada... no shipping charges, no hassle with customs (or no worries at least), and I found some titles that I've wanted but have never been able to find anywhere in stores at pretty cheap prices (in the $10 range), so it seems good to me.

If I get nailed for customs (which is usually the case) it's regular Ont sales tax + $5. Hence, the 20% off from DDD and the customs sort of cancel each other out. But with the cheap prices & cheap bulk shipping, it still wins. However if I were to just get just 2 or 3 discs, I'd probably do DVDpacific.

I was a little disapointed w/ DDD.ca, but I did order Caged Heat (cheapest price I've seen for it, under $9) and Planet Of The Vampires, which has been out of stock most places.

I ordered 3 DVDs on Saturday night, got my shipping confirmation Monday (which is pretty good considering the post office was closed), and then my DVDs arrived yesterday (Tuesday). Damn fast shipping....of course I don't live very far from where DDD.ca is located.
So sure they're don't have as many great prices as their american counterparts, but I don't have to deal with customs or currency conversions and the shipping was fast. So I think I'd order from them again.
