Never seen this flick. Worth buying? Also, which version should I purchase, the one with the silver frame around the cover or without?

Thanks

It pretty much rules! I prefer it over Basket Case, truth be told.

Same here! Basket Case is a real oddity for me. I enjoy it for what it is, but I really don't have a desire to own it. I actually did own it once, but I traded it in and have honestly never felt like re-buying the damned thing. Don't ask me why, it must be a buried subconscious thing. :eek1:

I have never seen either of these, Basket Case just seems like a dumb idea of a movie, IMO. Am I missing something. I really can't state an opinion, as I have never seen it, but the premise seems idiotic.

I fucking LOVE Basket Case. First time I watched it I couldn't get enough of it. Amazon still has the OOP anniversary edition for only $17.99. I'd jump on that asap if I were you.

If I were to get a copy of Basket Case, is there a particular version I should get? The above link is for Brain Damage, with the silver border. I will have to find some cash somewhere to pick that sucker up...

Get the Brain Damage DVD with the silver border. That movie rules. And pick up the Special Edition of Basket Case, hot damn do I love Basket Case. So much so that I have a Basket Case hoodie.

No shit, that good huh? Guess my credit card will continue to be in pain...

Is that the name of the Basket Case DVD just SE? Is it double disc, anything, I don't want to buy the wrong one.

Alright, after having seen Basket Case and Frankenhooker with mild bemusement I watched Brain Damage and pretty early on I said to myself, "Why didn't anyone ever tell me about this?"

Now this isn't going to win film of the year or anything, but none the less impressed me in a way I don't think any other film ever has. There's this pitch perfect black humor to it. A certain understated brilliance; like a Twilight Zone from Hell.

Maybe it was my "meh" expectations going in, or too much PBR on an empty stomach. But I've become very jealous of Henenlotter for making this.

A great film in every possible way.

Brain Damage is a damn good movie--much more polished than Basket Case or Frankenhooker. Even if you don't like either of them (for the record, I do) you should check out Brain Damage. It still features some over-the-top signature Henenlotter moments. But there's a lot of wit on display.

The last movies I watched on Halloween were the Basket Case Trilogy and Brain Damage.

First time I watched Brain Damage was on a really old vhs tape that I bought at a garage sale and absolutely loved it. The audio on the dvd is great also.

I love all of Henenlotter's films; if you have a sense of humor, you're likely to love them. BTW, what's the difference between the Silver and non-Silver BRAIN DAMAGEs?

I've owned both. I'm pretty sure I upgraded solely because the newer disc has anamorphic enhancement. The older one didn't.

Frank Hennenlotter has provided me with hours of entertainment. Brain Damage, Basket Case, Frankenhooker, all good stuff.

This is my favorite Henenlotter film. I saw it nearly 10 years ago and thought it was just ok, but after rewatching it a few days ago I can say it definitely improves on repeated viewings.
