With SILENT HILL atop the box office and Uwe Boll still hacking away at every dormant videogame franchise, the videogame adaptation is as popular a Hollywood genre as ever. Do you like them with a little cheese, or would you rather have them with a slice of serious? Which is your favorite horror videogame adaptation?

I have yet to see Silent Hill and gave up on Uwe Boll after absolutely hating House Of The Dead and hearing horrendous things about Alone In The Dark. Out of the films there I have seen I liked Resident Evil the most.

Is Pokemon 4Ever really a horror videogame adaptation or is that just a joke? I haven't even heard of it, but I don't like Pokemon either. If that's included though, I feel that Super Mario Bros. should have been as well since they took a fairly dark angle on it.

In fact, I like Super Mario Bros. just as much if not more than Resident Evil. You also gotta love that it's got Mojo Nixon in it, which is probably what raises it above Resident Evil.

I'm still hoping Silent Hill is better than any of these though, 'cuz I absolutely loved the first game and loved what I saw of the sequels although I never had an oppurtunity to really play them.

I'll hold off on voting until I see Silent Hill though which will probably be sometime this week after I get paid.

As much as I LOOOOVE House of the Dead, I had to give the nod to Silent Hill. Gans got the atmosphere just right. HotD still rules, though, and remains one of my favorite comedies.

I really like Resident Evil, so I went with that. Runner-up would be House of the Dead, of course, just because it is so bad.

House of the Dead. I hated Silent Hill. The visuals were cool as hell, but the story sucked and totally reeked of video game. Haha I just said reeked.

I went with Silent Hill, because I think it is by far the best of the movies. I don't even think it is close.

That said, I can find something to love in all of those movies.

If they did a big screen adaptation of Contra, starring Mario Lopez and Jake Busey, I would immediately pick that.

However, I went with Silent Hill.

RE 2 narrowly edges the first RE on the strength of Nemesis and being a bit closer to the games (esp. RE3 which was my favorite).

Silent Hill is probably the best adaptation, but the RE movies are more fun IMO.

Of course House Of The Dead wins most comedic adap. in a landslide!

Resident Evil...and Silent Hill blew.

Slent Hill did the best job of translating game-to-film. Doom rocks, but only in the so-retarded-it's-fun sense. Resident Evil 2 is better than part 1 but it's still nowhere near as good as a RE film should have been. If only Romero were able to do it...

Silent Hill is THEE most accurate & probably the best video game translation on screen compared to ALL listed.

Another worth mentioning was Mortal Kombat. I always thought it was a great VG movie & just plain popcorn fun. The 2nd one sucked a$$!

Between SH and RE. I enjoyed them both about the same for different reasons but RE has alot more replay value for me, much more of a 'pop it in anytime' movie versus SH which I thought was not, so RE for me.

I hated RE2 but I'll have to rent it again before I can forever condemn it.

I remember liking RE1 in theaters but after watching it on DVD, I wasn't so thrilled. I wonder why that happens.

Unlike the 1st RE, I saw RE2 in theatres and I disliked it intensely. I think it totally swayed from the "horror genre" and more into action...which to me, that is NOT what the RE games were all about in the 1st place.

I ended up buying for like $6.99 brand new at Worst Buy or something, and upon 2nd viewing I thought it was "OK" at best.

It is beyond comprehension how anyone could pick anything BUT Silent Hill unless horror just isn't your thing.

It might not come down to just horror though. I didnt find the Silent Hill movie scary at all. Nor did I the RE movie, but the RE movie has alot more replay value for me, hence my pick

Silent Hill. But then again, that's not saying much.

Alright, I saw Silent Hill yesterday and I'm goin' with that. It still wasn't as great as I was hoping, but it was as good as I expected. The parts that are done right are just executed so fucking well, I have to give it my vote.

I loved RE2 even though it really was an action film. But Milla's in it so there's no way I could vote for anything else. RE would be a close second though.

Doom, HotD, and Alone in the Dark were all pretty fun too. Still need to see Bloodrayne and Silent Hill though.
