who knows, probably never. Although I would have liked to see those movies get a release I am not too concerned. From Beyond on the other hand...

I wish they'd move it along with The Redeemer. There's not an ounce of news on that blog regarding extras or any work being done on it. It is nice to see that Devil Times Five will have a commentary though.

Guess in time for Halloween, too bad the film was cheezy instead of scary.

I never doubted them, though. :)

Here's some info from DVD Drive-In (http://www.dvddrive-in.com/).

Code Red DVD has announced a street date of October 10 for their release of the early 1980s slasher epic, DON’T GO IN THE WOODS. Specs for this release include a director approved full frame transfer from the original negatives; a poster and still gallery; a new hour-long featurette with cast and crew directed, produced, edited and photographed by original director James Bryan; a vintage 15-minute talk show appearance; an audio commentary with director Bryan; and a bonus commentary with CKY's Deron Miller, star Mary Gail Artz and director Bryan.

Ugh. As a person that invested alot of money into a Widescreen TV, I hate full frame transfers. I can live with it, but I hope this doesn't become a trend for Code Red DVDs.

If that's the way the Director approved the transfer, I don't really have a problem with it. The Unnamable and The Unnamable II (just an example) are surprisingly also meant to be viewed in a Full Frame ratio as the director intended.

The phrase "director approved" can be interpreted in a few ways.

Did the director say, "Hey, I always thought this looked better fullframe" or "I intended this movie to be shown fullframe".

Or did the company go to the director and say, "We crunched the numbers and the cost of an anamorphic widescreen transfer would put this DVD outside our budget. Either we go with basic fullframe or we'll have to pass on this movie." So the director replies, "Fine, I'll approve a fullframe transfer".

Which applies to just about everything.

I was in an 89 cent store, and found some DVDs. I ended up getting one, with a double feature. Two horror movies for 89 cents. On DVD. Okay, well, the movies were "Carnage," which I haven't watched yet, but hear is an impossible to find holy grail of hilarity, and "Class Reunion Massacre." I watched this little weirdy, and I have to say, it was, at the very least, odd enough to hold my interest. But something bothered me about it; I felt like the title "Class Reunion Massacre" didn't suit it at all. Perhaps "The Redeemer," would. So I looked it up on IMDB. Turns out, that's just the video title, and the original title was "The Redeemer: Son of Satan." And I felt good inside.

Well, there's your answer. ^

Found this review just a few minutes ago. Haha it has an mp3 of the ending theme. Haha can't believe they actually USED this. It's ridiculously hysterical.

wow funny how they simply announced the movie (it's not out yet) and everyone is kissing their ass. Have we forgotten that this is the company of the man who removes extra features from DVDs if someone gets snippy with him? Sorry but if this disc makes it out then I'm sure it's mostly thanks to Media Blasters and a lot less thanks to Code Red.

As someone who has purposely avoided any of the other threads with titles like "What is up with Code Red", I will avoid making any kind of judgement or statement other than to say that it's definitely looking way more legit and all, but "I Gots" has gots a point, and I feel the same way.

It's sad how the poster art is better than the movie itself. Really makes the movie look appealing but when you actually see it...it just doesn't "exactly" work out.

I hope this comes out with all the trimmings. I've waited too long! :) Also - wasn't DON'T GO IN THE WOODS a 16MM film? I could have sworn reading that in the '80's and noting the sheer grainy theatrical showing seeming to confirm that. Not sure, but I do recall reading about it being in 16 MM originally.

According to IMDB (which isn't always reliable) it was filmed in 35mm:

It might indeed be correct, but IMDB is also often very inaccurate.
