It's time again for my yearly Mold Awards Presentation. Stuff I had the pleasure of watching in the past 6 months. And when I say stuff I'm referring to the cheese and/or bad cinema - movies most wouldn't touch with a ten feet pole, or movies you might have seen at your local rental store always wondering if they are worth checking out. Well, wonder no more because here they are - the 2006 Mold Awards Nominees AND winners!

Rules are simple. In order to get nominated said movie had to be a first time viewing for me.

2006 Mold Awards Nominees

2001 Maniacs (2005) - Not everyone's cup of tea. I enjoyed this though.
Aswang (1994) - Pregnant girl in the clutches of madness. Gross and gory.
The Bloodletting (2004) - Shot-On-Video Vampire Action. Better than the usual SOV crap.
Bloodline (2004) - no-budget 'slasher' with enough twists and turns to keep one hooked.
Boo! (2005) - Decent low budget spook-fest with a Halloween setting.
The Candy Snatchers (1973) - Notorious yet campy and corny cheeseball epos.
Caved In: Prehistoric Terror (2006) - Cheesy and fun action-horror with bad acting & badder CGI.
Death To The Supermodels (2005) - I fear I might like this on my second viewing. As for now: one of the worst.
The Deathless Devil (1973) - Turkish Pop-Cinema at it's best.
DinoCroc (2004) - Corman unleashes CGI Dino.
Escape From Hell Hole (1983) - Indonasian lensed W.I.P. flick, thrilling & fun.
Hammerhead (2005) - Mega-trash.
Jack O'Lantern (2004) - Sorry excuse of a horror movie. Just painful.
The Janitor (2003) - Shot-on-Video splatter fest and superhero-spoof.
Jungle Virgin Force (1983) - Indonesian lensed trash-epos about battling tribes, fortune hunters and cannibals.
Legacy Of Satan (1976) - Trippy Satan-Worship horror, quite sexy and entertaining.
The Mailman (2004) - Horrible shot-on-video psycho-slasher that kinda grew on me after several viewings. ouch.
The Mangler Reborn (2005) - Well made sequel that might even be better then the original.
The Nun (2005) - Sucky bad but to be fair, the special effects are good.
Prayer Of The Rollerboys (1991) - It's corny, it's cheesy, so it's worthy.
Satanic (2006) - DTV horror that ain't as dumb as it appears.
Slaughterhouse Of The Rising Sun (2005) - Brilliant, tongue-in-cheek low budget effort.
Tarkan Vs. The Vikins (1971) - Turkish Pop-Cinema that's headspinning hilarious.
Vampire Stakes a.k.a. Stakes (2002) - Futuristic Vampire cheese. Quite solid for what it is.
Virgins From Hell (1987) - Indonesian biker chicks out for revenge.
The Visitation (2006) - Visually nice to look at, but the story has been told a many times.
Voodoo Dawn a.k.a. Fait Accompli (1998) - weird little thriller that wants to be so many things.
The Vulture's Eye (2004) - Insultingly dull.
Werewolves On Wheels (1971) - Horror's 'Easy Rider'

You know, I always love these Mold Awards, even if I haven't seen any of the movies in the running. I just have to say though...

Kill-Bot in The Deathless Devil (1973)

THAT sounds CLASSIC. If there is a killbot or robot gone amuck to be found, I shall be there.
