Finally caught up with this film this weekend after hearing allot about how much of an undiscovered gem it was. Well After watching it, I really have to agree. This is a really fun low budget movie. It had plenty of interesting Characters, Dialogue and a great concept even though I guess it does borrow from Running Man.

Anyway definitely check this out if you having already. I love it when I run into a really good independent low budget horror film.

I'm surprised there wasn't a thread about this already. Great movie. Usually I wait a while after watching a movie to watch the special features (if I do at all), but I so enjoyed this flick that I devoured everything they had and wanted more.

Excellent flick indeed. I got pretty hyped for this one back when it was released, and it didn't disappoint. I loved how they humanized Chainsaw Charlie. It was a nice step away from the norm.

One of my favorite blind buys. Not only was the movie fantastic fun, but the DVD was high quality and packed with extras for such a small release. I should revisit this one soon.

I thought it was a great blind buy as well. I had heard a few things about it and found a used copy for $7 and that was a still for a cool film like that!!

Surprisingly fun film. Obvious Running Man rip but I would enjoy watching this one more than AHHnold's flick.

Nope. A Japanese Gameshow (but the movie was made by Canadians) with people competing against killers/slashers.

Reality TV sucks but this movie is alot of fun.

Anyone know the best version of this to get? Looks like it has a full screen Canadian release done by Kaboom entertainment, so I'm guessing that's a no no. Fangoria and Ryko also released versions of it. And finally MTI did an unrated special edition release of it.

Good question.

I see there are several different versions on Amazon. and that's why I got my copy. It's of the original fully loaded FANGORIA Home Video special edition standard def DVD. It's got a commentary with Maurice as well as his fellow Montrealer who did the music score, and on it they talk about (or better yet Maurice does, anyway) about how this is his prefered cut and the official Director's Cut, and how not to worry because no gore was cut out, ect. He just mentions it's like another half hour or less longer with more character dialogue. Which is good that it was cut out as I like the film enough as it is (I just recently posted on it twice this month, if anyone wants to go back and read my toughts on it, and included it as my selection as a personal favorite Canadian-shot genre film for the first contest this month), but such as it is, I'm glad he paired it down, as such as it is, the film IS a tad bit over long.

But yeah, I would check 3rd party sellers and go with that. There is also a GREAT making of featurette that is feature length and shows a lot of background info of the film. Including it's premiere at the '01 FantAsia Film Festival in Montreal where he's parents attend (I guess he's lovely looking Francophobic mother passed away not long afterwords, as if you check the credits, it's dedicated to her and another person, so RIP to her :(). I would burn it for ya, if I had any DVD-R burning software, that is.

The pan & scan Canadian edition released by Kaboom was the only censored version of the film. Avoid!

Also, if you want the full-length version of the "Making-Of" (50 minutes), look for the original Fangoria = MTI release - the Redemption version apparently truncated it.

Yes. I bought the Canadian DVD back in November and just watched it again the other night for October viewing. As much as I liked Slashers, this is much, much better. I love the song over the end credits too. I haven't liked a song made specifically for a horror film that much since the Society reworking of the "Eton Boat Song".

Not surprisingly, I did that as well. :eek1: It only cost like $4, but I just didn't care for how the film was executed at all. I'd rather watch The Running Man any day.

I picked up End of the Line but haven't had a chance to watch it. Glad to hear it's good!
