I purchased from D3's MGM sale, War-Gods Of The Deep/At The Earth's Core (arrived today) and Land That Time Forgot/People That Time Forgot (coming next week). Do they come with inserts? Mine didn't. Curious.

Correction. I just found out that both War-Gods Of The Deep and At The Earth's Core were released separately initially. Ok.

Did those or the later double bill have inserts?

Yup. But older releases tend to have them. Titles get re-released, same DVD - just different cover. Minus the insert. I have several DVDs I need to complete. Yeah, I'm in that camp. Plus a few that need their cardboard slipcase ("Duel"). Thanks for the replies.

Ok. A final Q on the inserts.

Was there one for Return Of The Living Dead 2? The non-snapper version of the first movie has one (and the glow-in-the-dark wraparound).

I'm confused by this.
I bought that dvd the day it was released and got no insert, although it has the glow cover.

I've also never seen a snapper version and doubt there is one as MGM or even shitty Sony never used them.

No idea about part 2 as I don't have it, but I'd guess since it was cheap FS disc it doesn't have one either.

If you got an insert in your ROTLD 1, please post a scan of it. I'm gonna be pissed if I didn't get one on release day if it exists.

MGM did use snappers on their earliest DVDs when they were distributed through Warner. (I distinctly remember "Species" originally came in a snapper.) This was all before ROTLD was released to DVD, however.

I also bought ROTLD on release day, and there was no insert.

And, believe it or not, Sony has released three DVDs in snappers. "Dr. Strangelove"'s second release was in snapper when it was released as a part of the Kubrick set; the one Warners rushed out right after he died. The second one was the "Taxi Driver" SE which I own. The third one, I forgot. As I recall, it was part of the deal to include Dr Strangelove in the Kubrick box. Hard to believe that Warners was that queer for those fucking snapper cases, isn't it?

Who else used snapper? I know that Image used them, and a number of Universal movies that Image released came in snappers. Which wasn't technically a Universal release, so we can give them a pass.

New Line and HBO are already a part of the T/W hegemony, so snappers for them are a given.

I stand corrected on ROTLD2 and MGM's snappers (forgot about those really early ones). For some reason I thought ROTLD2 was issued FS, must have it mixed up another title I never cared about but heard about many times.

I won Return Of The Living Dead off Ebay a few years back as a snapper. I was disappointed because the auction was far from mint. For some reason mint means playable. NO. I ended up throwing it in the garbage. It would be awhile before I rebought it. This time from Best Buy.

My worst experince has to be with Wrong Turn. I bought it from some woman off Ebay. Once again not mint. It had sticky fingerprints all over the disc. I emailed her asking a refund. She said her kids must have gotten to the DVD. But the worst part was IT WAS A BOOTLEG. We got into a heated exchange saying it was real. Yeah. A real bootleg. Part of the text on the back looked Chinese, plus the wraparound was cardboard and it was cut incorrectly. It stuck outside the DVD's clear plastic protective sleeve. C'mon, it's a bootleg. I never bothered putting it into my player. And yeah, I eventually got a refund. I later bought it from Wal-Mart.

Sorry Bigdaddyhorse. I don't have scanner anymore. When my iMac died (OS 9), I bought a iBook G4. The new laptop wouldn't work with the old scanner. It's on my list of things to buy. But I did get my 2.5" external drive to work again. Long stupid story.

I prefer ROLD 2 over the first film. But yeah, not getting the music license really hurt it. Wow, that generic music sucks big time.

You guys sure you thinking of ROTLD2 being in a snapper?

Because I've never seen an R1 ROTLD in anything but a keepcase. Now, ROTLD2 being in a snapper wouldn't surprise me since it's a Warner Bros. release.
