Versus

Has anyone seen this zombie film from Japan? Japan seems to be the hotbed for zombie films lately with Junk, Wild Zero, Bio-Zombie and now Versus. Does any one know if Versus if available on dvd?

If you've seen this film, what are your thoughts on it. I haven't seen Junk or Biozombie, but I have Wild Zero.

I haven't seen it yet, but I think some people on this board have said it's disappointing. Someone said it had endless amounts of style but no substance.

Bio Zombie is a Hong Kong movie, by the way, not a Japanese movie. And it is excellent. I recommend everyone who likes zombies or horror comedies to get it immediately!

I really like the movie. It surely lacks substance but but there is enough style to make it a entertaining movie. The characters are all odd and crazy in their own way. The music most of the time supports the on screen action, and there is a lot of blood and some nice gore f/x.

There is a bootleg dvd avaible it is rc0, ntsc and has mpeg 2.0 stereo sound (but the left & right channels got switched :().
Qualitywise the picture matches a normal vcd. I also has burned in eng. subtitles.

imagine if john woo directed a cross between 'dawn of the dead' and 'the matrix', shot on the set of the 'blair witch project' with tons of swordfights and lots of blood....you'd have something that looks a lot like 'versus'. personally, i thought the best parts of the film were the obvious parodies to 'the matrix', ROFL! Very stylized and very cool. show it at your halloween party and you'll be the envy of those around you! i want the dvd, but i don't wanna pay a bunch for some crappy boot.

Versus is a pretty good flick.....I got a bootleg from upcominghorrormovies.com for 15 bucks. not bad price....but dammit I want the dvd!!

Yeah there's a lot of good movies at UHM, I bought Junk and Battle Royale.

any chance of any R1 DVDs for any of these movies? I mean, I can play anything with my DVD-ROM, but I was just curious of anything heard through the grapevince. Of course, I also have to register that Remote Selector software now that region changing isn't available in the demo :(

Good news guys `Versus` is being released early next year! English subtitles and Uncut =^,^= havent seen it yet so i cant comment , but im an avid japanese movie fan so im sure it wont dissapoint me!

Versus rocks!!!! It's not only a fun zombie movie, it also has a great sense of humour, and its sense of style is very unique. The story is fun with lots of strange elements from many different genres mixed together, and it is handled with an almost palpable sense of glee from some of the actors. See this movie! :) Very glad to hear about the R1 release :)
