Even though Jason went to Manhattan, Hell, Space and the bottom of Crysal Lake, all his films were incredibly similar in tone and feel. Freddy, on the other hand, has had quite a ride throughout his 7 1/2 films. He's been a gay allegory, a wise-cracking father, a hampster-killing boy (in 3D!) and one scary son of a bitch. The Freddy films have been all over the map, and since each one seems to play to totally different tastes, each of his films have their own set of admireres. Which is your favorite? The amazingly watchable Dream Warriors? The most popular film, The Dream Master? Craven's return with New Nightmare? You decide, especially since screenings of the new Infinifilm release of the first (and its revival theatrical release as well) will no doubt inspire many to rewatch several of the ol' classics. So what will it be?

I have to say Dream Warriors. I can't even count the number of times I used to wake up from nightmares hearing the sound effect that was played as Freddy was pulling Phillip's strings....

Despite a bit of spotty acting,PT. 3,THE DREAM WARRIORS is my favorite.Lots of nice, surreal scenes and a good set up for the later films.

Dream Warriors, no contest. That is the perfect Freddy sequel and it has a lot of replay value. Plus, there's that Dokken song.

Freddy's Revenge, I don't really count FVJ as a sequel (that would have won easily) its a spin-off.

Dream Warriors has always been my favorite, and I originally saw it in the theaters. And the Dokken title song was always a guilty pleasure of mine.

Yeah, that.
New Nightmare is close behind as it went to a cool new place IMO, but DW has been a favorite since the first time I saw it and gets the most replay out of the whole boxset.
I really do like all of them on some level, even 4 and 5 are good for laughs now and then.

I chose Dream Warriors, but New Nightmare was only slightly behind it. I think New Nightmare is the better film (and the smarter film, as well) but Dream Warriors is just so much fun!

Back in the 80s, I got to see both III and IV in theatres TWICE! For the longest, longest time, Part IV has been my fav in the series...I know, it wasn't SCARY per say (Freddy was almost hokey in this one), but it had a good amount of gore and SFX, plus Alice pulling a "Mega Man" (obtaining victim's power as they die) was cool as shit for me at the time...still kind of is in fact.

I voted Dream Master.

Dream Warriors. Coolest story & John Saxon was brought back into the action.

I'd say that technically Wes Craven's New Nightmare is the best and that it will hold up the best over time as well, but my favorite is probably Freddy's Revenge.

I loved New Nightmare. So my vote goes for that. Dream Warriors is definately not far behind though.

Like most, Dream Warriors is my favourite but New Nightmare is a close seond. I love every sequel though....except Freddy's Dead. I still don't like that one very much. The rest are pure gold though and very close in the battle for my favourite.

I think Freddy Vs Jason is the best sequel, and I thought it sucked. Says a lot about how much I like this series: I don't. The original movie is the only good one.

I must admit I enjoyed everyone except Freddys Dead- part 2 seems to kinda be off on its own without much link to the others and New Nightmare was a cool concept- but I gotta say Dream Warriors was probably my fave sequal

Dream Warriors, even though it officially signaled the end of the dark and scary Freddy Krueger, it had some great characters and fantasy aspects to it.

I went for Freddys Revenge, the last time we would see the dark, serious side of Freddy.

for sure it is dream warriors, with a new nightmare right behind

I honestly think Freddy was still "scary" in this one...the fourth one really killed "Scary Freddy"!

Leave it to Renny Harlin to give Freddy too much screen time! I believe in the old school rule, the less screen time for the ghoul, the scarier he/she can be.

Dream Warriors definitely, for me and even my friends here that like horror.
