Ehhhh. I was pretty disappointed in Brotherhood, as I took its advertisements to mean it would be Ninjas Vs. Werewolves. Sadly, no.
I don't remember Wolfen--what was that one again?

Plot: A city cop is assigned to solve a bizarre set of violent murders where it appears that the victims were killed by animals. In his pursuit he learns of an Indian legend about wolf spirits.
That pretty much sums it up. I still dislike Warners cover art for the DVD though. Makes the film appear cheap which Wolfen certainly is not.

Wolfen.
Wolves rule all...but, I hated Brotherhood of the Wolf.

I don't think I've seen Wolfen, but I did almost buy it a couple weeks ago. I liked Brotherhood Of The Wolf quite a bit, but it was too long and it's hard to bring myself to watching it again. I'll wait to vote.

Oh yeah, the cop one. Thanks.

Wolfen was one of those classic cases of a movie that left most of the excellent parts of the book behind. In the book, the uber-wolves weren't making a protest against habitat encroachment, they were just preying on the dregs of society and had made the mistake of getting noticed. A mistake they were desperately trying to correct, and avoid repeating. Simple as that, and a much better story for it. I remember being quite disappointed in the change to the "eat the rich" (literally) and "profound native American spiritualism" messages of the movie as being old and clichéd, even back then.
Can't see voting for Brotherhood of the Wolf, either.
I can't really remember much of Wolfen, but at least it wasn't as godawfully pretentious and overlong as Brotherhood of the Wolf. That film was a perfect waste of breathtakingly beautiful cinematography and two nice scenes. A trailer-movie, if there ever was one, since all the good stuff was in the trailer. I hate that film!

Both of these are pretty damn good. However I went with Wolfen, that has become somewhat iconic for me, it's aged well and benefits from not having that modern sheen to it. Both worth seeing.

I like Wolfen but thought Brotherhood Of The Wolf was the much better film.A feast for the eyes it was..

BOTW is a feast for the eyes, much more than Wolfen. But a movie is more things than just that, so I must go with Wolfen because I think it's a great movie, even with that wig Albert Finney is wearing.

I almost picked up WOLFEN last night as it's now in the Walmart $5.50 bin. I've never seen it before, i guess i should pick up a copy next time i'm in the store.

It was $4.88 at the Walmart here, along with a bunch of horror New Line/Warner DVD's.

Well...Wolfen's not really a werewolf movie. Great damn movie though.
I think both are really excellent movies, but I have to say that Wolfen has more replay value and has the better creepy parts. I hate this kind of poll with two movies that are this good! :(

it could be very well $4.88 there as well. They usually mix those dvds with the $5.50 bin, though it'll ring up $4.88. Speaking of the bin, i picked up the Village of the Damned/Children of the Damned double feature as well as The Mangler. Good stuff. I guess i'll pick up Wolfen next time i'm there. I almost got it last night, but had too much stuff already.

They also have put out a ton of Universal DVD's at the Walmart here for $4.88 within the past few days. Quite a few Carpenter (Prince of Darkness, They Live) and Craven (Shocker, Serpent and the Rainbow) films, and other horror and non-horror titles.

I've seen the other titles (Wolfen, etc.) but didn't see any of THOSE there. I'll be checking back ASAP. I can't pass up They Live or Shocker for those prices.
