I just picked up a used DVD of Argento's 'Opera', but it's defective. Does AB still send replacements, or should I go a just take it back to the store??

Thanks.

Since this is an old issue, you'll probably be better off taking back to the store. Look for a "version 2" sticker on the back, as it seems every one of the original run was defective.

I am one of the few who got a non-defective first run copy. Guess I got lucky. :)

have you tried to watch it lately? i got a copy from the first run batch and for about a year, it played fine then all of a sudden it no longer worked. Fortunately I got a new copy from AB.

Yes, I watched it last month. Still works perfectly.

I've got the limited numbered edition, which I'm assuming every one is discussing here. Mine isn't V2.0 and it works great. Now I'm nervous.

I haven't checked in a while but I think Anchor Bay still has a replacement service on a disc by disc basis....they replaced my Deep Red and Wicker Man in the past

I've got the LE too, and I don't think it's v2.0 either. It still works perfectly though, and plays fine in every one of my DVD players without a hiccup. I've had it for years...I think it's safe by now. :eek2:

No problems here either (had to post something in an Argento thread :D).

here's where you go to replace a malfunctioning disc: http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/index.asp?p=FAQ_Problem

Thanks for the advice. I just took it back, and ordered from somewhere else. On the back of the case, it had the 'O' with the red background, and I thought that meant it was the 'good copy' and not the defect?
