Oooh, I don't hink Mindhunters is going to make it so I'll agree with Hellbilly this time and vote for Raising Cain, which has one of the most extraoridnary ending sequence I have ever seen on film. And is a fun piece of ridiculous cinema, something De Palma is the master of.

EDIT: Cancelling my Raising Cain vote, coing with The Company of Wolves instead. Sorry, Brian. I love you still :*

i'm gonna go with HELL NIGHT this time around, it stands high above most slashers of that era and is hardly ever recognized. i actually saw it by default because HALLOWEEN 2 was sold out, i think i won out on that deal.

YESSSS! Messiah of Evil made it! Now my world is complete...

My next vote (I think I'll be alone on this one :D ) goes to Paul Naschy's Horror Rises From The Tomb

This is B and possible C movie fair. I like it however, because it has unexpected moments of horror awesomeness - yeah that's a word, look it up :p. The car ambush, the scythe kill and the Zombie house invasion are among the highlights that come to mind. Unfortunately you have to sit through some boring moments and uninspired acting to get to these gems. Still though, I'd never heard a word about this film until I checked it out via Brentwood's Dead Time Stories collection. http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/P/B0001XAK8I.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V1085761351_.jpg
Anyone know if this DVD is better than the Brentwood one?

I really loved all the movies on the list before MESSIAH OF EVIL made it. I never heard of that one before this started so, if it is actually good, it is likely the most underrated on there. I will have to check it out and see for myself.

My vote for today goes to Brain Damage. I just love it more as the years go by.

I love the film. As good as the original? No, but it's a different film completely.

Carnival Of Blood. I love this movie. It's like an HG Lewis movie, but with a tiny dash of Scorsese. Yay, Gimpy!

What makes a lady of eighty go out on the loose?
Why does a gander meander in search of a goose?
What puts the kick in a chicken, the magic in June?
It's just Aylmer's tune!

This is so cool! :D I've never heard anyone mention Carnival of Blood on this website. I happen to love the movie too. This was the first Something Weird dvd I ever bought. The transfer leaves much to be desired, but the content of the movie really makes up for it. Yes, Burt Young (Blood Beach, Amityville II, and the Rocky movies) is the best as Gimpy! The scene where he is asked what his real name is and he replies "...uhh, Mr. Gimpy" is priceless.

Dead of Night (1945)

Recently, someone here did a "best anthology film" poll, and Dead of Night wasn't even one of the selections. I'd say that means it's underrated.

Bloody school work has kept me from participating in this most awesome event.

My vote also goes to one of my all time favorite films: THE COMPANY OF WOLVES.
