La Settima Donna (aka The Last House on the Beach aka Terror aka Verflucht zum Töten), No. 2 in our “Italian Genre Cinema Collection”, is slowly taking shape. Originally slated for release at October the 23rd of 2006, we had to bump the disc back due to the creation of additional features and a better image transfer (which actually looks absolutely stunning, by the way). The disc will now be released as a two-disc set with the film’s original Soundtrack on a separate audio CD in early 2007, the exact release date will be announced soon.
To shorten the wait a little, take a look at the German trailer of the film which is a sight in its own right as it is pretty cheesy, featuring a different dubbing job than the film’s actual German language track as well as a couple of different music cues. Click here (http://www.sazuma.com/productions/upload/settima_donna_trailer.mov) to enjoy.
The picture on the left features the disc’s final cover art. Click to view an enlarged version.

I would like to see some more screen shots ... from the main movie ... and if possible in the original DVD Video frame size (not shrunk down although if you want to resize for 1:1 pixel aspect ratio that is A-OK to me).

Read the review:
http://10kbullets.com/reviews/last-house-on-the-beach-the/
Out of these Italian “Last House” clones The Last House on the Beach in tone and content is the closest to Craven’s Film. It is down right nasty and lacks any of humor which was a main part of House on the Edge of the Park’s charm.
The Last House on the Beach is presented in an anamorphic widescreen that preserves the films original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The sourced material sued in nearly flawless and the end result is spectacular as colors are vivid and details are razor sharp.

Anothere one:
Though it popped up in an English-language incarnation of varying lengths under its initial export title as well as Terror, Prosperi's film has suffered mightily over the years due to brutal pan-and-scan transfers that renedered it completely incoherent. A widescreen Japanese DVD eventually appeared, but the winner in the home video market by far is the essential release by Sazuma, presented in a beautiful uncut anamorphic transfer. The packaging only lists audio options in Italian and German, but the English is actually on there as well; Lovelock and some of the supporting performers clearly performed in English, while Bolkan mostly spoke Italian. Both are legitimate, so it's really your call as to which of the two you'd prefer (i.e., the classier Italian track, or the juicy '70s English track with plenty of the usual suspects from the dubbing community). Subtitles are available in Italian or German. The front of the package credits the film under its original Italian title as well as its German one (Verflucht zum Toten), so most dealers may list it that way. Also included on the disc is a lengthy featurette, "Holy Beauty vs. the Evil Beasts," which features Lovelock talking about his career (with some anecdotes carried over from his earlier DVD interviews) as well as his memories of working on the film and his co-stars. Also included as the German and Italian theatrical trailers, the alternate German openining credits, a photo gallery, a brief but informative liner notes by Christian Kessler entitled "Of Nuns and Jackals," and a very funny karaoke-style Easter Egg that won't be spoiled here. However, the coolest extra by far is a second disc containing the entire CD soundtrack in beautiful, immaculate stereo; Pregadio's score has never been released before in any form (and yes, that song is included as well), so this wonderful bonus is almost worth the entire price by itself.

First off, Subconscious Cruelty is self-indulgent garbage. Don't bother.
As for Last House on the Beach, I have the Sazuma disc, and it's a nice release, and a pretty good film. I personally would probably take it over Last House on the Left, as there isn't much of a cheese factor here, it's pretty nasty overall. I'd recommend it...there's also a review on the site here: http://horrordvds.com/modules.php?name=Reviews&file=viewarticle&id=510

Now this:I think I found this disc, very cheap. But I'm not sure if it's the Sazuma disc.
Has there been another release recently that I don't know of?Probably not.
For this price (16 Euro/$20) I might consider buying it,even if it isn't totally my kind of movie.
So,has there been another release of it recently?

Not much info given.Only that it's German import with a few audio options (English,Italian and German) and at least it seems like a different cover:
http://www.rodisc.nl/res//00103/img_site/covers/v/VerfluchtZumTotenakaLaSettimaD01.jpg
It's weird because this cover also has the German title Verflucht zum Toten, just like the Sazuma release which looks like this:

And it's not the Japanese cover either because that's this one:

Right,I now know what happened.I emailed the store about this disc.
Then I got a reply that they accidentally listed the DVD and removed it from their catalog.
I figured something was wrong because the price was just too low for a DVD+ CD release from Germany/Austria.
It's a pity though,it was a very nice price :(.

I have a dvd-r of this film that is fullscreen and grainy.I have a question though.I see the new Severin dvd has the some of the features that the Sazuma dvd has.Are the transfers the same? As in like how BU does with old AB titles? I would spend the extra five bucks for the soundtrack.I just wonder how the new print is,if it even is new.Anyone care to chime in when they get a chance to see it?

Looking at all the screenshots provided with these reviews,I have the feeling that this transfer is softer.
The Sazuma disc looks sharper on my TV than these screenshots..
But to be sure we should do some kind of comparison..I might do some screens from the Sazuma disc and compare them to the ones already available.
I will get back to ya.

The Sazuma disc show a bit more information on top and bottom.Sharpness looks quite the same in these screenshots.
Lets wait what rhett has to say in a couple of weeks.
I just read there's no Italian option on the Severin disc?I watched it in Italian which sounded better to my ears.

Yeah, the dubbed track is sort of iffy, you can tell the dialogue was better in the Italian version from the trailer.

I watched the full movie and I must say I liked it more then Last house on the left.Last Beach disturbed me more. The rape scenes were more fucked up.The soundtrack was awesome too.Looks like im getting the Sazuma dvd. Thanks for who ever started this thread, also does anyone know how much was cut out of the Terror version? if anything was cut out at all but there was some jumpy edits that made me seem there were cuts.

The review/comparison is up:
http://www.horrordvds.com/viewarticle.php?articleid=692
Basically, what Severin did was zoom in on the master just enough so the black bars on the sides of the Sazuma print were eliminated. In the process though, they cropped off the top and bottom of the frame ever so slightly. The zoom in makes for an ever so slight drop in detail, noticeable mainly in longer shots where eyes sort of lose their distinctiveness. To compensate, it looks like a slight digital sharpening has been added to their print, which makes for subtly harsher edges and a less organic frame than the Sazuma disc.
***
Sound wise, though, Sazuma wins out for including the original Italian track (as well as a German mix). There were English subtitles on their disc, and that seemed the best way to view it. Watching this new English dub on the Severin disc confirms that – the Italian language sounds much more believable and serious here, which is important when your film is dealing with rape, religion and death. There were times in the English dub that elicited unintentional laughs because of some of the shoddy dubbing
So basically what we established earlier.
Great review rhett!Thanks!
