I saw an ad, I believe in last month's Rue Morgue, for some horror DVDs coming out soon by way of a company named Camp Motion Pictures. After viewing some of the trailers on their MySpace page, I have to say I'm not that excited for any of them, however they might be entertaining if at a budget price.

Has any one heard of this company or its upcoming releases? Here's their schedule:

2007 DVD Release Schedule

CANNIBAL CAMPOUT - January 16, 2007

WOODCHIPPER MASSACRE - January 16, 2007

GHOUL SCHOOL: SPLATTER UNIVERSITY EDITION - March 13, 2007

VIDEO VIOLENCE / VIDEO VIOLENCE 2 - April 10, 2007

And you can get more information at www.MySpace.com/CampMotionPictures

There's also a recent thread here: http://www.horrordvds.com/vb3forum/showthread.php?t=31859

I didn't know about Ghoul School and Video Violence though. Ghoul School already had a decent DVD release from Tempe already, so I wonder if this is new or just a re-release.

Thanks Kat for the link. Ghoul School looked remotely interesting, but the rest? Eh. We'll see.

WHOA! Does this mean that the old Camp Video from the 80's has returned, but as a DVD company?! This is the first I've heard of this. I remember them fondly, after renting titles like Video Violence 1 and 2, and Ray Dennis Steckler's The Thrill Killers (which had awesome cover art). I even bought a copy of the big box Video Violence tape off of Half.com!

I will be picking up VV 1 and 2. :D

Some great stuff planned, although the Woodchipper and Cannibal Campout discs had supplements, the main features suffered from the jump to dvd which showcased inferior picture quality.

Those guys at www.deadpit.com have been reviewing them quite regularly on their podcast.

It comes with even earlier shorts the Polonia Brothers made, shot on film no less. How freaking sweet is that? Does this make Black Magic the last known movie of the Polonia Brothers to be released on DVD?

also hollywood chainsaw hookers would be fitting too but image/retromedia released it on dvd a couple of years ago so i kinda doubt that. some boss at camp probably sold the rights back then not knowing they would be resurrected

Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers will be getting a 20th anniversary DVD re-release with a new 16x9 transfer and new extras, released by Retromedia.

Well I picked up a used copy of Woodchipper Massacre for $5. It looks awful, but it was cheap and I'll give it a try!

It's cheap and awful...but it never tries to be anything else. I like these Camp releases.

It looks like they're re-releasing Killing Spree, one of my favorite 80's SOV flicks. The features sound identical to the old Sub Rosa issued disc...

They're also releasing two more titled American Punks and A Feast of Flesh - whatever they are.

It's good to see Amy Lynn Best is still 'round with A Feast of Flesh, and we've also got an Oct 9th release date for Splatter Beach as well. Good news.

I have a few of these. I love how they're cheap, obscure, and they all have bonus features.

Heads up on Woodchipper Massacre though, it blows. It's more like an 80's home video version of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead except the kids are responsible for the death. Really lame BUT it was $6.
