Pieces dvd Christopher George

Has anyone ever seen this German import dvd of Pieces? I've never seen this movie in widescreen. I'm stuck with the horrible public domain quality Diamond release. Grindhouse was rumored to be working on a special edition release at some point, but never heard anything official to date. Just wondering if anyone can vouch for the quality of this widescreen import?

Yeah, I've got it. While it's hardly a reference DVD, it's a real step up from the Diamond release. At the time I think I wrote something along the lines of "I am happy with my Diamond release, the poor presentation suits the movie". This, of course, is utter nonsense. Whenever I want to watch the movie, I grab this German release from the shelf.

Thanks for the feedback. Not sure if I want to spend this much on a bare bones dvd release? I may wait a little longer in the hopes that some label might issue a proper release of Pieces to cash-in on GRINDHOUSE.

I think there are extras, just nothing of great note. Didn't someone in R1 announce this - or am I befuddled?

It was Grindhouse Releasing, the company that put out the 25th anniversary edition of Cannibal Holocaust. Not holding my breath...

i love my German PIECES DVD. That was money well spent to finally see this classic in widescreen. If you're a rabid fan, you should pick it up, it could be years before the R1 sees the light of day...

How's the print quality? Any extras? My Diamond dvd release sucks!

i have them both and the german one looks way better and if you like themovie then it'swell worth it to get the german one. i remember putting up some screenshots at one point a few years back but they are long gone by now. there's actually more to see on the part where the chick gets her head chopped off while laying in the grass if i remember correctly due to the way the diamond disc is cropped.
