To set the record straight - Lionsgate's upcoming CUJO: 25TH ANNIVERSARY DVD will indeed be in anamorphic widescreen. We have official confirmation from the folks at Lionsgate, in addition to a full listing of the special features and the great cover art. The disc will street for $19.99 on September 25th, and here's what we'll be getting:

1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen
English mono
Audio commentary by director Lewis Teague
“Dog Days: The Making of Cujo” three-part documentary with all new interviews with director Lewis Teague, director of photography Jan de Bont, producers Daniel H. Blatt and Robert Singer, Dee Wallace, Danny
Pintauro, Stephen King’s Biographer Douglas E. Winter, and more

And here's the welcomed simplicity of the front cover:

If all the specs hold true, this release definitely won't bite.

I am glad I waited to buy Cujo. On July 6th, not far from where I live, I saw Dee Wallace in person, and she talked about some of films she has done, but she really talked quite a bit about Cujo. She talked about one scene, towards the end of the movie, where she couldn't get into the Pinto, and where she had the gun, and that the treated glass was not supposed to break. They were filming the scene, and the glass did break, but what they didn't keep in the movie, was that she suffered a cut on her arm, and it was pretty close to the end of the shooting schedule, and she did another take, then went to the hospital. She also talked a little about Rob Zombie's Halloween, since she is in it, and she said that Rob Zombie was a kind and sweet man. After the interview, I got her autograph on a E.T. Poster. I did not know about it until an hour before the interview, otherwise, I would have taken a DVD to be signed.

I've met Dee Wallace a couple of times at the Horrorfind convention and she has never been anything but kind, sweet and funny. Meeting her only made me a bigger fan of her work!

I don't like the cover of the DVD.

I much prefer the original poster from when the movie was released.

I saw this in theatres ... I would have been about 11 at the time. I remember thinking it was scary but I didn't like the ending. Have never seen the movie since then.

I do have a paperback novel somewhere that came out when the movie did that has the original poster artwork for the cover of the paperback.

Attached image is the original poster artwork.

That's right, Wal-Mart is already selling it. I just picked it up after I got off work. I'm about ready to watch it and I must say that I'm really excited. This was my most anticipated DVD release of the year. Even more than all those great 9/11 releases. Enough talk, time to relive some fond memories...ahhh.
