I also added a few 'thrillers'. Some of these rentals made more money then they did in theaters.
I've seen all except: Premonition, Blood And Chocolate, Thr3e and Bloodrayne 2. I have yet to watch Bloodrayne 1 so I'm in no rush to check out part 2 ...

Sweet, Snakes on a Plane in the Top 10.

It's scary though that Bloodrayne 2 is even in the top 25.

Doesn't it seem like The Covenant is a little higher on the list that you would expect?? Did that movie do better than I remembered or something, or maybe everyone was just waiting for dvd.

It took me forever to get Premonition from netflix. I am not surprised it is so high. Everyone and their brother seemed to have been renting that one. It was really very average too, save Julian McMahon's good looks of course.

It was the #1 movie on its opening weekend in September 2006. Total gross was $23m (worldwide: $37m). Not a huge success, though. No idea why it did so swell rental-wise.

I'm surprised Primeval did better than the Black Christmas remake. I am still unsure what the former is about. Killer croc? Some scary-looking Gollum-guy from the trailers?

Primeval is about a giant killer croc. I thought it was pretty good. Especially the scenes with the croc. I think the reason it did better than Black Christmas is because Black X-Mas is a Blockbuster exclusive through that Weinstein deal so people couldn't rent it most other places like Hollywood Video.

I didnt think of that. That explains why Hannibal Rising is so much lower than I would've guessed, especially considering how long it is taking me to get it from netflix. Usually movies that are in a series, even if they flop at the box office, rent well.

With 1408 coming out soon, I wonder if that too will be hampered by this special deal too. Since it was a rare hit for them, you would think they would try to rent it out.

I will never really understand the Blockbuster-Weinstein deal, save that the devil HAS to be involved somehow.
