Hey guys, ive just been to a film fair here in London and bought this LE tin boxset of Hellraisor and Hellbound...i havent managed to view it yet as my girl wants to give it to me for Xmas so i gotta wait!!..DOH But the query is about the second movie in the set Hellbound...is this the Unrated version with the extra 2 minutes?? or is it the nasty cut version?? every website i visit tells me something different like it says R rated on the box but then the specs on the disc match up to the unrated version review! hmmm im confused i do hope it aint the cut version cuz then i will have to buy the second movie again...*sigh* i cant believe they would put the cut version in a LE tin?? surely not =^,^= come on gimme the bad news...

From what I've heard, Hellraiser is a beautiful transfer but is the R-rated cut. Hellbound supposedly has a poor transfer but is the uncut version.
I'm going to buy them seperately, since it'll be cheaper and the new Hellbound disc is THX approved, which probably means it's look a lot nicer.
You may want some feedback from someone who actually has the tin before you make any rash decisions :D.

wrong dude.. the Hellbound DVD being sold on its own now is the EXACT same disc that comes in the LE tin. The LE tin's Hellbound is THX approved AND uncut and the transfer is beautiful....

oh yeah.. i'm pretty sure there is no such thing as an unrated cut of Hellraiser... it was always R rated... and the only thing that seems the be somewhat "cut" is the chain scene at the end but we get to see it in its entirety in the beginning of Hellbound so I'm happy anyways :) see... i'm smiling :)

I have the tin and assure you Hellbound is uncut THX with all the goodies like comm. and a doc. The tin is worth the extra couple bucks if you can still find one, it has a pretty good 48 booklet, not much text, but a ton of pictures.
Don't pay any attention to the running time of part 1, the box lists it at 118, like the old vhs, but they're all 90 something minutes (can't remember exactly).

like i already said.. the Hellbound disc in the LE Tin is the EXACT same disc sold on its own now... so if you haven't already got Hellraiser on DVD by itself i cannot see a reason for buying them seperately...

I have the tin, and both transfers are pretty solid. And the features are nice too.
And I like the tin - it's the only one I own.
But to be honest, I have no idea if they're cut or uncut. Sorry. I love the films, but I'm not good at picking up stuff like that unless it's obvious, and I haven't seen the R-rated versions enough on video to know.

The first HELLRAISER was released UNRATED, at one point.
There are scenes in the DVD that have been cut. I don't have the list of things cut, but they were posted on a HORROR website that is now defunct.
One was where Julia grabs the hammer and hits that horny fat old man. It had a close up shot of the hammer smashin' his face. I haven't checked my DVD version in a while, but I'm pretty sure its less gory than the UNRATED release.
If I can find something on the net, i'll post a link, but I can PROMISE you there is an UNRATED version of HELLRAISER.
Also, my comments on the tin set, i think both transfers are awesome and the sound in part 1 is just PERFECT!!! A good grab!! Remember, HELLRAISER 2 is packed in there as an extra! That's a hell of an extra if you ask me!!! And I've seen the price drop to around $25 now. To me, that's awesome!!!

on the commentary for Hellbound, the speakers note that they are watching a scene that was only on Japanese prints.also i checked the running time of the unrated video at blockbuster and then checked my Hellbound disc and it was actually longer by a minute or so than the video.
