If so how would you rate the player and any problems with it?

I don't have the player, but I don't believe it supports PIP or web enabled features. These are the problems.

You have to figure out what profile it is (1.1 being the most current) and if not, if it's upgradable.

It's most likely 1.0. I believe the only 1.1 player available now is the Panasonic BD30. And as far as I know, none of the current BD standalone players can be upgraded...only the PS3.
