They've been saying stuff like this for ages. The largest sets are still Plasma. I've had a 42" plasma for a couple years and am very happy with it. I can't tell any difference between it and LCD.....
if you read the article they're not getting out of plasma: "Pioneer is in negotiations to procure plasma panels from Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. (http://www.panasonc.com/)". The fact is, margins are getting tight - which ought to mean customers get better value. Plasma is a long way from dead.

God, I looooooooooove my Pioneer plasma (43"). Bought it a few years ago now and I've still yet to see another plasma or LCD with better picture quality.
