Sorry I'm a little late but hopefully this will still qualify. My first pick for the Horror Film Of The Week Club is something that a lot of people have probably heard of but not a lot of people have checked out:

This is one of my favorite Italian horror (science fiction, really) movies. Why? Well, it's cheesy. It's a rip-off of Alien. It's got a lot of gore. It has great dubbing. Hopefully others will want to check out this awesome Luigi Cozzi film as well.

I first saw this on late night TV in the 80's on Elvira's MOVIE MACABRE.When Blue Underground released it,I jumped on it.I always remembered it as a fun bad movie.Seeing it again widescreen (the B.U. disc looks great),I actually thought it was better than I remembered. It's still nutty and goofy but it really won me over. One of Cozzi's better films.Plus Ian McCollough from ZOMBIE is great fun as the drunken ex-astronaut (''I don't know what Mars is and I've never been there !").Great fun,as long as you know what you're getting into.

Can't remember how much I enjoyed this the first time I saw it, so I'm looking forward to checking it out again.

I've been wanting to see this for a long time. Contamination was near the top of my Netflix queue seemingly forever. The status always said VERY LONG WAIT and never changed. I gave up on it. I'll probably pick up the Blue Underground dvd at some point.

I remember getting this from Netflix back when it first came out- now they don't even have it in their catalog anymore. Looks like I'm not going to get to watch this one again since I don't remember liking it enough to actually buy it.

I have this one as well. Cheesy indeed. However it's not that great, and it's pretty slow at times. But the gore and grue and bad dubbing make it worth a watch.

It's ok. I don't remember much from it but Hastings had it for $15.99 so I couldn't lose.

The most I remember about The Shape of Things To Come:
- A very pissed off Jack Palance yelling a lot
- Low budget robots made from spare parts
- Several familiar genre stars looking indifferent
Not the classic schlock of say Roger Corman's Battle Beyond the Stars (made around the same time), but Shape of Things To Come is amusing enough for bad movie collectors.

Nice pick, Dr West. I've been meaning to pay this one another visit for a while now, and just had a hoot watching it. Enjoyed it much more than last time, mainly thanks to my lowered expectations in regards to the gore.
It's mostly hilariously bad, from some pretty awful dialogue to that goofy looking cyclops, but it also has one of my most favourite Goblin soundtracks, and those eggs are actually pretty damn creepy!
And this might sound weird, but to me the whole movie sort of feels like a totally f*cked up Dr Who episode.

I don't think anyone has summed the movie up better. This was a lot of fun as well. There are so many ALIEN rip offs, but I have to say this is my favorite. Good stuff !

Saw this today, It was alright I guess. It seems like it was trying to cash in the the success of Alien, which I'm sure it was. It did have some fun moments but I thought it got a bit too silly towards the end. Interesting pick though and I did enjoy it more then I thought I would.

Just saw this. I really liked it. The pod eggs idea was cool. I really liked the exploding bodies . . . and Goblin's score. The boat sequence at the beginning (walking in its dark corridors) was really well filmed and suspenseful. It slows down in places but it was a fun ride and I really enjoyed it. I also liked how it all comes together at the end. Good pick!
I also liked:
When the cop gets eaten at the end and when the mexican gang blows up in the warehouse shootout!
