It is released by Devil Pictures (Oliver Krekel from Astro is involved).
Previews say that the picture is great since Devil Pictures got the original fim material from japan. It is also rumored that the audio will include the original japanese track and a new mixed DD5.1 japanese track. I never heard a upmix made by Digi Dreams (Devil Picture's/Astro's mastering studio) so I can't tell if it will sound good or not.

...retailer of this box set? With the edition limited to a mere 3000 boxes, I may have to invest in this set (but I may have to hide behind a cushion in the more gruesome scenes!).

@moogong77:
Price is anounced around 300DM (~135$) and it should be released in december (last I heard maybe sooner, maybe later).

@DVD Connoisseur:
I only know shops that sell the box in germany, none of them take international orders.

Billy;
Thanks for posting the news. Moving thread to "General" as it deals with a horror dvd release. An argument could be made to place it in "Slashers", but I think it will fit in nicely enough in "General". Thanks for being conscientious and posting in "Off Topic" since you weren't sure where to post. Just to let you know, "Off Topic" is for pretty much anything anyone wants to talk about other than horror films, dvds, personalities, and so forth. It's for when you want to discuss that weird guy who lives down the street; that bad batch of chili you ate last night; that cool goth chick you met last week; meteor showers; why the Cowboys can't win a fuckin' game (ARGH!); Dave's wife; Dave's crack habit; and so forth and so on.

Hope that clears things up.

I've only seen about 15mins of GP2, after buying the disc recently.
I have yet to make it through the rest of the film, very sick indeed, and bought purely as a curiosity. I enjoyed what I saw in a sicko sort of way. Strong it certainly is, but is this the strongest of the bunch? I'll be surprised if it isn't.
I know of all the miss-information stories of snuff etc, and it probably had alot to do with my added curiosity and in my purchasing the disc, but now I'm interested, how similar are the rest in the series?
I've heard many mixed reports on all the different titles. If you like your gory special effects GP 2 certainly doesn't dissapoint even after the 15 mins i've watched.
GP 2 is about 45 mins long and needs no subtitles, are the rest like this or do they attempt at some narrative?

Afaik part 3-6 are all "real" movies with a storyline.
I will get the box set since I heard so many things (good and bad) about those movies......

Ive seen Devils Experiment, Flowers of Flesh and Blood, Android of Notre Dam and Mermaid in a Manhole :rolleyes:
Devils Experiment disturbed me the most because it was so chillingly executed, just what i would expect from a real snuff movie(its all faked though so dont worry!) ,a seriously deranged 40 minutes of a young girl being tortured by her tormentors in unflinching detail!..which also pretty much sums up Flowers of Flesh and Blood, which is certainly the more colourful of the 2 movies *gags* great effects though i have to say :cool:
Android of Notre Dam is very low budget and crappy, with some gory operation footage (obviously faked) and Mermaid in a Manhole is very arty and puss filled, but actually quite entertaining.I wouldnt want to watch any of these movies in the vicinity of a date or a girlfriend(unless very open minded!) though as you may well be single for some time after!! hehe :D
If your curious then its well worth a watch but its pretty strong stuff even for hardened gore hounds and sicko`s. i would imagine the other episodes i havent seen are equally as disgusting.
