With all the love that so many have for The Forest and Don't Go in the Woods, I was suprised to not see any mention of this epic anywhere. I had an old VHS laying around that I just sold on ebay...and while I was checking it to make sure it worked (and making a DVD-R for myself!) I was getting alot of joy out of this little piece o' junk.
Basic plot has two couples and five college co-eds staying at two neighboring ski resort cabins where the night before, two lesbian bank robbers were murdered.
Bad acting and priceless dialog abound as the couples are warned about the legend of a haunted hunting knife and the college girls (or 'snow bunnies' as one of the wives keeps calling them) lust after the husbands. Meanwhile a psycho in platex living gloves begins to run amuk. Plus it has a great final scene, like something out of Excalibur!
Plenty of nudity, spattered blood (yet no actual wounds), and corpses that blink. The IMDB lists this as an '84 release, but in the bank robbery scene you can see that it actually 1981.
The Prism tape actually begins with a trailer for The Forest, and this would actually make a pretty good double bill with it.
Code Red, are you guys going after this one?

I have the Prism clamshell VHS, but haven't watched, or ripped it yet. Sounds good to me :)

I have the old clamshell VHS also. It's a great film, but I haven't watched it in a few years. I'd love to see a DVD release someday. See...there are plenty of films that still need releases!

Thanks for sharing that trailer, Eric. This is indeed certifiable trash of the entertaining variety. :)

 Yeah, you said it.

Helly recommended this sucker not too long ago in the Movies You've Watched thread. Crap on all accounts, but definitely enjoyable. Low budget to the max, and really poorly constructed for the majority. Some sequences presented in silent montage...why, we'll never know. The deaths really suck, SCREAM (1980) style, where you basically see the close-up of the weapon moving and then a cut to syrupy aftermath.

The ending takes it though, and as I watch more and more of these shit slashers I'm realizing how sacred all the endings are. No matter how bad the film, there's usually always a card out in left field before the credits.

I remember renting this from Blockbuster about 12 years ago because the cover looked so rad!

Todays dvd art is so uninspired, one of my favorite things about the VHS era was that alot of time and effort went into cover design.

You got that right, because nothing in that movie even looks remotely close to the awesome art of those covers!
