Here's the trailer for The Uninvited (the US remake of Tale Of Two Sisters). Is it just me, or does this look horrible?

It's been a few years since I watched the original, but I don't remember any of the crap they're doing in the trailer. Looks like they took the basic framework, and created a totally different story.

Why am I not surprised that this remake looks like it will suck?

The only good thing that comes out of all these remakes getting done and it makes me want to go back and visit the originals. Its a shame I don't have a copy of A Tale of Two Sisters. I should put that on the 'To Own' list.

The effect with the glass of milk smashing on the floor was kinda cool...

Why oh why hollywood.... At least they gave it a different title so as not to disgrace the great original as much

To make things even more confusing, there's an excellent recent Korean Horror/Drama called The Uninvited. People are going to hear "Korean", "Horror", "Remake" and mix-up the two films.

This lousy remake just shits all over both the Korean films.

That's what I'm thinking. The less these remakes look like the originals the better, I say.

I dunno. I think it could be ok. I can't quite tell from the trailer, but if it's emphasis is on the supernatural then I might enjoy it. If it's more about the evil stepmom then I'm not that interested. Either way I'm sure I'll give it a chance....but it really barely looks like it's related to A Tale Of Two Sisters.

I don't know much about the original, but that doesn't look very good.

how many remakes were actually successful? I saw mirrors (US version) last month and that really sucked

Going to check this out tomorrow. Probably will disappoint but I'm still kind of looking forward to it....famous last words huh?

Anyone else seen it?

This looks like shit. Some of it resembles the original, but they seemed to have changed it so it would appeal more to today's <yuppie marketing guy voice>EXTREME VIEWING AUDIENCES</yuppie marketing guy voice>

Stupid studios, spending all that money on this symbol of cultural excrement ... almost makes me ashamed to be of the same species.

For those who haven't seen the Korean version yet: go see it, it's a beautiful film
