Okay. This one I believe was done in the early 80's. Kind of an Alien ripoff. It takes place on a oil rig. They find these small things that turn out to be eggs during some drilling. They have them in an incubator at one point. One of them hatches and it resembles the Alien in a way. I think someone hits it with a fire extinguisher.
Later a full grown one makes its way around the ship.
I think it was a made for TV film. Not 100% sure though.
Any ideas?

^ Confirmed. I saw this on TV back in the day, and later picked up the VHS used.

Man that was a cool movie. That was actually scary to me back in the day. Another cool made for TV horror that needs a dvd release.

I am a fan of this as well, I remember catching the first time it ran on the ABC Friday Night movie...if I'm not mistaken it was right around the same time as another TV classic, This House Possessed. Someone should do a box set or series of double features of 70s and 80s TV movies. Pretty rough stuff for an early 80s TV movie, with monster rape and everything. I have a DVD-R that I need to check out again at some point.

I'd love to get a set of these classic horror telefilms.I guess there might be rights problems with some of them though.I've noticed a few cheapy DVDs ,perhaps some are in the public domain.Still, lots of fun nostalgia out there,I'll bet a set would sell well.SATAN'S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS,THE INITIATION OF SARAH and a lot of others have yet to get a decent digital release.

For anyone interested, this film, in a VHS transfer, can now be found in... certain places.
