The Weinsteins have the US rights to a remastering don't they? Hopefully this will be from the same print. I'm interested in this disc so long as it doesn't have the new sound remix Bill Lustig did.

If I ever get my hands on a Blu-Ray of Suspira I may never leave the house.

Must be a typo. Blu-rays are region coded by letter, not number. Maybe they just used the DVD region because this info wasn't provided by the studio.

Also Region A is America/Japan, Region B is Europe.

Yeah. That'll come out soon, along with the 4 hour cut of Kill Bill and the theatrical cut of Grindhouse.

I caught a review of the DVD "Ultimate Edition" released by this company and it was less than stellar. I certainly hope they do a brand new master and not regurgitate the
"HD master" the DVD was based on.

Apparently it's Region B locked, uses the same 2007 DVD master (with some upconverting/stair-stepping), and has Italian audio but no English subtitles or dub.

Yikes!

Just for clarification, that's just some weird restoration, right? That's not the 30th Anniversary edition, is it? If so, I fear it's the only version we'll ever get on Blu-Ray :eek2:

No, it's not from the 30th Anniversary edition transfer, but the same botched transfer from the Italian/French DVD's released in Europe in 2007. Comparisons here. (http://whiggles.landofwhimsy.com/archives/2007/10/the_digital_restoration_bandit.html)

I was just listening to the latest Mondo Movie Podcast. They had Alan Jones on in an interview and he said he was in the process of working on the special features of an upcoming special edition DVD and Blu-Ray of Suspiria.

Good news, just as long as they don't screw it up.
