Has anybody ever seen the German made vampire film from 1970 called Jonathan? Nobody seems to know very much on this movie.

I remember one of the bootleg catalogs I bought things from offered it in the early 90's. I was almost going to get it, but I always bought something else. I don't think I've ever seen it offered anywhere else.

There are a few reviews on IMDB. It seems to be a bit of a comedy. I'm not sure if it is even horror. It has been called a "political vampire movie."

It's a pretty obscure one.It was indeed meant to be politically minded.I've never seen a legit release of it,I think Video Search Of Miami might have offered it years ago (perhaps it was their catalog you were mentioning).I've never seen it,though I have read about it in a few source books.If you do track it down,let us know what you think.

Actually I think it might have been Videoscreams. I don't know if they still have it. I should've bought the extended import version of Happy Birthday To me when they offered it briefly.

"Horror- The Overlook Film Encyclopedia" by Phil Hardy has a review of the film, which was not very flattering, but does make it sound interesting to me. Hitler (at least metaphorically) as a vampire? Hummmm.

I never dealt with Videoscreams myself,though in the 90's I ordered from VIDEO SEARCH and REVOK ,I think they are a Canadian outfit,they're still in business.

An import of BIRTHDAY would be nice,especially as the American DVD hasn't got some of the original music on it.
