Did anyone actually buy these? I've heard from several sources that both transfers look pretty lackluster and aren't any real visual upgrade from the DVD versions upconverted. The screen grabs from the Blu-ray.com review (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Wrong-Turn-Blu-ray-Review/5580/) look...blah.

My guess is that these will one day be packaged together. The sequel is pretty fun, for different reasons.

Definitely let us know whatch'all think about these Blu's because I would love to upgrade, but I don't wanna waste my time if it's not worth it.

Just announced for 10/20 and most places are selling it for like $40 which basically means you buy parts 1 and 2 for regular price and get part 3 for free :)

Oh man, that looks bad.
I almost grabbed them, but thankfully they weren't on sale and not considerably cheaper online. I saw that boxset online and figured I'd hold out for that, but if these Blu's are that bad I see no need to upgrade when the upgrade isn't even an upgrade.
If anyone watches one, please chime in with opinions and thoughts about the PQ.

I bought the first one and thought it looked VERy good all the details in the background were visable and it was an upgrade, although not a revolutionary one. The beginning images of the forrest were not much clearer than the dvd but still textures looked vibrant as far as I am concerned, and the night scenes were great. It was region locked A so had to watch it on my "cheap" blu ray player but still didn't regret the purchase

That's a little more reassuring. I've been reading various reviews, and they don't seem consistant. Some folks complain of smeared/muddy colors, while others say there is much better detail from the original DVD release. Seems like it varies from scene to scene, and many folks say Wrong Turn 2 is a better upgrade than Part 1.

Has anyone else bought these? Would love to hear more feedback. Maybe some sceen caps comparing standard and Blu.

The German release says digitally remastered.....does that mean anything anymore? Has anyone checked it?

Hmm...probably not. But since I didnŽt get the US blu-ray, I might go for the german one instead.
IŽll update you on the transfer, when I get it :)
