Wow, the parents in the original looked like they were in their 40s...these ones look like they are in high school...don't know why I am shocked.
From the preview it seems like the focus is on the mother rather then the killer baby.....which didn't even look like a horrible mutant. LAME.

I actually like the Trailer but I'm a bit shocked this is going straight to DVD in the US. That is usually not a good sign. Still going to check this out and hope it won't suck too hard.

The LONG WEEKEND remake went straight to video too.Maybe the theatrical market is finally getting too saturated with remakes....
A man can dream can't he ?

I watched the Trailer and it did not look bad. I also watched the Trailer for their Film of The Children and it looked good as well! Is that a remake of the 80'S Horror Movie, The Children? It looked kind of creepy!

no it's totally different movie about killer children although a remake of the 80's film would be nice

Well, for the first time a remake goes where they all should go - straight to DVD.

As I watched this, I remembered seeing the trailer last year! This may not exactly be a winner, but at least it's going straight to dvd, which is way more than it deserves!!

I just looked at the back of the case and besides "first Look entertainment" it said in bloody letters "AMICUS"! Can anyone tell me more about this?

It's Amicus Entertainment (http://www.imdb.com/company/co0176036/). Here's a MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/amicusproductions) for them which states that the studio has been resurrected, and it lists It's Alive on that page.
British horror film label Amicus Entertainment has been reanimated by producer Robert Katz, longtime Amicus exec Julie Moldo and financier Jay Firestone. While the company plans to scare up remakes of such Amicus classics as "The House That Dripped Blood," the shingle will start with two original low-budget horror films. A deal is in the works with a distributor, Katz said, and the goal will be to make as many as six films per year, four budgeted under $5 million and two up to $20 million each.

ok, I paid $1.00 at the redbox for this one, so really, except for the 80 minutes of time, what do you have to lose?
you know, it wasn't that bad. I'm not saying this was a great movie or even a necessary remake, but in the last 20 minutes, I actually felt a little creeped out and sympathetic toward the baby and the parents. A nice dark ending and some splattering blood made this one a decent time waster.
I'll buy that for a dollar!

I thought this was ok. I've expected worse but it was alright for a late night viewing with company. A bit wretched and flawed at times, but in a entertaining B borderline-campy sort of way.

I picked up all 3 original films at Big Lots for $6 total.
