Ok nudity and horror (especially slashers) go well together. What movies do you feel combine the best nudity (however you may define that) with an overall good movie. Let me hear your thoughts.

I may be going to the extreme here but Re-Penetrator was a good movie for being only 20 minutes long. It's a XXX Gore film.Right up my alley, lol. Similiar was XXXorcist.

Really? Why would you say that is?

It depends on what's going on. If the nudity is used to make a point.

But usually it's needless and just done to give straight guys something to gawk at. It's a form of pandering. And doesn't make the movies feel free spirited. It just makes them feel dumb.

I have one great exception example - the movies where you know there's going to be lots of "T&A" in it. Who would rent Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama and not expect to see so much jiggling you think you're watching jello wrestling! Nudity only bothers me when it feels forced. Unnatural.

Seems to me that Halloween set the precedent for slashers, as did Psycho. Either overt or repressed, sex seems to be the fuel thrown on the fire in all slashers. Nudity would be a natural expression of it. Hell even something like The Thing, containing no women and not overtly homosexual, is preoccupied with the alien's "reproduction." Horror deals with life and death. Sex is life.

Anyways, Vampire Lovers is easily my favorite. Nobody does it better than Ingrid Pitt.

Almost anything by Jean Rollin or Joe D'amato. A lot of the Hong Kong cat III over-the-top crazy horror films also quality (Ivan Lai is a particularly noteworthy director here).

edit: oh wait, you meant "overall good movie" - your mileage may vary with respect to the "goodness" of the above-mentioned.

I think Jose Larraz's VAMPYRES and Harry Kumel's DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS both blend horror and eroticism well, both have a dream like quality and a genuine sexual charge.

The more serious and well-made the movie, usually the less need for t&a.

Every Friday The 13th flick requires one gratuitous breast shot, that's a given. The female disrobing is generally in the context of a late-night skinny dip,or cabin/guest house mating with the token jock character for an after-hours bootycall. You don't see Final Chapter's promiscuous twins parading around the cabin fully nude for the hell of it,and even New Blood's slutty Robin dons a t-shirt to track down David after a wicked beasting session.

Jason kills highly-sexualized teenagers/20-somethings,and having them appear sans clothes only makes sense. How many of us us 'do the deed' fully-clad?

As for my favorite example of top-dropping used effectively..Elizabeth Berridge's ample bosom in Fun House.Totally-unexpected,(and possibly unnecessary),but then a character is more vulnerable when they are naked, and especially near a shower.A glimpse into her fluffy pink robe made her situation that much more dire-she became a real person, susceptable to real harm(or a real rubber knife to the belly from a pervy lil' brother,as it were).

I'm going with "Night of the Demons" (in particular, the famous lipstick scene) and "Night of the Demons 2" (solely for the "monster breasts") as my favorite and most memorable.

Of course, Linnea's strip scene in "Return of The Living Dead" is an oft-remembered flesh scene (complete with barbie-doll front-piece) as well.

To build on what X-human said, sex and death are two things that transcend any language or cultural barriers - they're literally unavoidable. Horror, like porn, is one of those universal genres, so naturally, nudity and death go together well. I suppose another argument is that we are so preoccupied with death because we recognize the fragility of life and the human body - how easy it is to be penetrated, to die. Nudity is just another form of that same vulnerability and can often heighten the feeling used in horror.

Now, onto more superficial things...good T&A in horror?

Linnea Quigley in Silent Night, Deadly Night
Edwige Fenech in The Case of the Bloody Iris
Anita Strindberg in Lizard in a Woman's Skin
Bobbie Bresee in Mausoleum
Debbiesue Voorhees in Friday the 13th, Part V: A New Beginning
Zelda Rubinstein in Poltergeist
Natasha Henstridge in Species
Basically everyone in Savage Streets
Valerie Hartman in Sleepaway Camp 2

Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key

Can't say I loved the movie but it was a decent giallo and Edwige Fenech is so hot in it it's ridiculous! I need to check out her other flicks, seems like she get nude in a lot of them. Hell, she's still pretty hot for her age now, I'd check her out if she stripped down again.

The Burning
The Howling
Unhinged has the most uncalled for nudity ever, The chick takes about 5 showers in the flick
The Toolbox Murders (original)
The Entity, Hershey's fake muff :)

My favorite boob shot in a slasher flick probably has to be the scalded nurse in Halloween II. The fact that she's gained weight and looks like a plain mom nowadays is disappointing, but at least she had one of the greatest racks I've ever seen when she was younger.

Yeah, she has the great exchange after fucking that kid in the woods:

Ally: [after sex] That was great, thanks a lot. That was fun.
Ally: Listen, you don't have AIDS or anything, do you?
Rob: No!
Ally: Great! See ya!

Scorching scenes:

Britt Ekland from The Wicker Man
Jenny Agutter from An American Werewolf in London
Anna Falchi from Cemetery Man

I don't think these movies would be as good without them. To all you horror producers, if in doubt add the tits!

I'll go for all that, they use the nudity well....
But I think Toolbox Murders is a little OTT:eek2: Why did they make us sit through all that before he killed her?

Great list. These would still be excellent films, but of course it doesn't hurt them at all. ;)

And yeah Ekland had an ass double, but I believe she originally shot it all. So there's probably original ass footage in a vault somewhere. Some kind of hope I guess.

You are correct,Ekland was actually pregnant during THE WICKER MAN shoot,so a body double was used for her lower half.Still a very erotic sequence.

I'll second LIFEFORCE,Mathilda May is quite striking in that.I'll also give the MY BLOODY VALENTINE remake some points, they DID go all the way with that sequence.

It's towards beginning half , so you won't have to watch the whole movie.

It's the beach (rocky beach) scene. Very well shot. She looks so comfortable out there. Never really heard of her before that movie. I don't watch Smallville.

P.S. - I just realized that the original post said "What movies do you feel combine the best nudity (however you may define that) with an overall good movie"

So I guess I made a mistake on House of the Dead being a good movie. It's an ok movie.

While it may not be the most explicit nudity in horror. I'd have to site Shining (Kubrick's) as one of the best uses of nudity in a horror film.

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of nudity. I HATE when an actor does a nude scene and explains in an interview that he or she felt it was necessary for the scene. Nudity is NEVER necessary in a well-directed scene unless you're making hardcore pornography. Sure, it can enhance an erotic scene or add a harder punch where violence is involved, but necessary? Never.

Stepping off my soapbox, I would say that the 1982 CAT PEOPLE and pretty much anything BRIAN DE PALMA directs make brilliant use of nudity.

Then there's the FUN nudity. Nudity that's SO BAD, it's good.

SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT comes immediately to mind with the "Here Kitty, Kitty!" scene and let's not forget everyone's favorite castration in NIGHT OF THE DEMON. Ha ha! BRILLIANT!
