Must Buy Blu-ray Horror part 3 - The Shining

I'm going to make this thread about movies that are just "Must Buy" Blu-rays.

With only a set of picks, The Shining makes it onto the list.

So let's pick some more Blu-ray Horror and the one that gets the first 4 votes will be placed next in the list. Or the Blu-Ray with the most votes by the end of 4 days, based on which comes first.

Must-Buy: 01. Child's Play - Blu-Ray
Must-Buy: 02. The Thing - Blu-Ray
Must-Buy: 03. The Shining - Blu-Ray

So if you haven't picked up The Shining, I really suggest you look into adding it into your Blu-ray collection. If you've bought it, I'd love to read your comments on the disc. Image, sound. If you haven't, will you be buying it? And lastly select a movie you own on Blu-ray as a must have, the first movie with 4 votes will make the list.

I will start the next thread with my selection, so to begin, I choose:

Halloween - Blu-Ray

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) Blu-ray

Mutilated Prey

Friday the 13th Part 2 Blu - whata huge improvement.

Amityville Horror. I was blown away when I watched this on blu, a worthwhile purchase despite the lack of extra features.

Yeah, I'd say Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th parts 1 and 2 and An American Werewolf in London.

Nice picks thus far.

So far we have a tie between Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th part 2.

Keep in mind that a must buy Blu-ray doesn't necessarily have to have a ton of extras. It could just be the impressive visuals in high definition alone that make it a must own over the regular DVD. It could also be a must have based on it's audio reproduction (DTS-HD). Or it could just be a classic, long over due on HD. :glasses:
