Horror Poster Showdown part 3 - Them vs Creature from the Black Lagoon
Okay, so I love posters, classic ones, 80's ones, new ones. So I want to make this thread about posters, placing one against another. The one with the most votes makes it onto a "winning" list and at the end of 10 winners, we will vote for your favorite of the winners, to have 1 grand winning poster.
So the list will include :
A Top 10 Posters list.
1 winning "favorite" choice.
So let's start the votes!!!!!!!! (Poll will close after 3 days) And explain why you selected your choice, and if you've seen the films.
(Remember we're voting for posters, the art, coloring, style, and how it captures the film, not the movie)
Which poster do you like more?

Them is a much more cohesively designed and exciting poster. aaand, in the other one the creature is wearing too much lipstick. Besides, what's up with that little diver man? Looks more menacing than the damn creature.

Them! looks insane, whereas the Creature poster is disappointing. Look at the woman's left hand, fer cryin' out loud.

Another vote for the lipstick wearing monster.. probably just nostalgia, but I've always liked that poster. Those pointy breasts are just dreamy, haha...
Them poster is neat too, just dosen't really click with me.

Them is cooler creepier poster in my opinion.

Them is the better poster. Lots of action depicted here. I have this poster hanging up at home. :)

Them has better artwork but Creature has a simpler design. There is a bias here, for me, since I find the Creature a much more interesting beast then the insects from Them. Negligently: Creature from the Black Lagoon.

THEM. I love both films but the CREATURE's lipstick makes him look like an aquatic Phyllis Diller.

HA HA HA! I love all the lipstick comments! It's the first thing I noticed in that poster. Moviewise, I love CREATURE much more than THEM, but posterwise, I've got to go with THEM. Posters generally overstate the actual horror depicted on the screen, but in this case, CREATURE is sadly lacking while THEM takes it to a whole new level, even offering the giant ants very angry human eyes, which is pretty hilarious! I can hear the woman in the poster screaming, "AAAA! This angry ant with a human face is pinching me!"

I voted for Them by a slim margin.
The one reason (I completely ignored the "lipstick" thing at first) Creature's poster is problematic is because of the illustrated scene pics cutting into the image taking up the most room. They're distracting.
THEM. I love both films but the CREATURE's lipstick makes him look like an aquatic Phyllis Diller.

Them - the ants look viscious. It has that "end of the world" feel to it and the artwork is more dramatic. Creature is okay, but not as impressive.

I prefer the Gill-man. Nostalgia is probably a factor for me too. I've always liked that one.

I love them both so I didn't vote. Here are a couple of Mexican lobby cards.
