If you're a fan of the film, you know who you are!

The official "20th Anniversary Edition" DVD is now out, and only available direct from director Mark Freed at the website: http://www.shockemdeadmovie.com/ (http://www.shockemdeadmovie.com/)

The DVD comes sealed, and is indeed a real manufactured silver DVD. I received mine in the mail via 1st class just a few days after I ordered it.

It's $14.95 + $2.95 shipping ($17.90 total) which is a very reasonable price.

The transfer is fullscreen, which is its original aspect ratio. It's the original director's cut of the film.

Extra features include:

Audio Commentary with Director Mark Freed and the Associate Producer
Deleted & Extended Scenes (5:21 minutes running time)
Original Audition Tapes, with Picture-in-Picture comparison to the actual scenes in the film. (6:24 minutes running time)
Two Photo Galleries (Production Stills & Wardrobe Photos)
The original Trailer is not included for some reason as it was on the OOP Region 4 DVD release.

This movie is pretty hilarious, I'll have to get this. Someone should tell them they spelled Traci Lord's name wrong on that site.

 I hadn't noticed that, but they did spell it correctly on the actual DVD's front and back cover.

Where can the actual DVD cover be seen? It can not be the one on the link (credit card details, no spine, etc.)

You can view hi-res coverscans if you have the DVD Profiler program. I added them there the other day. If you don't have the program, you can view thumbnails of the front/back covers in my collection link below.

Thanks a lot!
Sadly the cover looks really cheap and amateurish as if someone tried to use Photoshop for the first time.

You're right. I was hoping for a better DVD release! I'll just keep my VHS of this... its cover looks a lot better!

I made a DVD cover for this from the VHS cover. I'll still get it and I can just print that out instead. It'd be cool if Mark Freed was signing the copies since he's selling them himself. Not mandatory for me to purchase one or anything, just saying it'd be cool.

This can proceed a release by a distributor by about a year. I think typically the owners realize their movie isn't worth has much as they first thought, so they're willing to deal.

So the coverart isn't the best, and who the hell cares? I'd rather have a real manufactured DVD (this isn't a DVD-R) and worthy unseen extras (which this release has). It's not as if this is even an expensive DVD to buy.

Seriously, print out a custom cover like Suicide. If the coverart bothers you that much, then you aren't too much of a fan of the film to begin with.

I could care less about cover art, I would really like to pick up this DVD. I'll probably wait for someone else to pick it up first though and say how it is.
