Now i like the concept of 3D, but i guess we all agree that 60? odd years since its inception it still has not been properly employed by Hollywood. But just imagine if it was...............

Die Hard - oh yeah
Aliens - particularly considering how well Cameron handled 3D in Avatar without having a decent script
Any of Bava's films from the 60s would have been stunningly gorgeous with today's technology.
Videodrome - it just seems to fit so well

Not that I would actually change anything about the way these films were made but if it was possible to convert them somehow and make it work, I'd take any of De Palma's classics, particularly CARRIE, DRESSED TO KILL, BLOW OUT and BODY DOUBLE. De Palma's use of depth in his shots is so beautiful in 2D that I'm pretty sure in 3D it could make me come.

I'd probably go with Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. Not because the film would WORK in 3D, but because most film franchises at the time were making their 3rd in the series a 3D affair and it would have fit in snugly with the rest of them.

I always wondered why the third part of a series meant 3D for awhile-Jaws 3D, Superman 3D, Friday The 13th 3D. Was it also coincidental that all of them were a step down from there predecessors? I mean Superman II was pretty much a classic, the follow-up was pretty bad. Richard Pryor, as brilliant as he may be, was not a highlight of the franchise for me.

Actually, Superman wasn't in 3-D, but yes it did suck many things.
Around the same time was Amityville 3-D though.

You're right, don't know why I lumped it into the 3D pile. There was so much 3D happening around that time-Metalstorm, Spacehunter I think it was, there was one with Molly Ringwald. Guess I got my 3D confused on the Superman film.

Great call on Starship Troopers. I'm still deciding on Showgirls though as it could be good or scary.

I don't think 3D would have saved the Simpsons movie.

The Incredibles should have been in 3D.

I'm a sucker for 3D so I'd pretty much like to see anything in that format--as long as it's also available in 2D.
