Seems like they've taken over distribution of Weinstein titles. Not really interested in these titles though, since I have Feast and Pulse on HD DVD, and I saw Prey in HD on TV a few years ago. But at least good news that we'll see some more Weinstein titles on Blu-ray in the future.

Unless Feast is unrated, then no sale.

Was there 2 different dvd versions? If I have the R rated, then I can wrap my head around an upgrade to Blu.

Wouldn't really be a 40th Anniversary at this point.

I don't see why some other (major) company hasn't released a blu-ray. It's a guaranteed seller and it's not like there are any legal boundaries they have to get through.

The probably want to make the release perfect.

Night of the Living Dead has been released twice on Blu. They just aren't very good releases.

Hence why I said major company. I don't really consider some cheap ass Brentwood-type company a legitimate release.

The run time on both is exactly the same. There was never a "rated" version released, just the unrated DVD.

At this point I don't believe the film was even submitted for a rating considering it had a mere run of about 500 screens or so and pretty much came out direct to DVD. Wouldn't make much sense now to have the film rated to release it for Blu Ray so I think it's safe to assume the unrated version will be the version released.

I think there might've been an R-rated version sent to Blockbuster, or maybe it just had less extras. I know the rental version was missing something.
2 and 3 have rated and unrated dvds. Rated for rental and Wal-Mart, unrated for real stores.

It was submitted for rating (http://www.filmratings.com/filmRatings_Cara/) though. Link looks like you'll have to type in Feast and scroll down a bit, but it's there as R for "Pervasive Strong Creature Violence and Gore, Language, Some Sexuality and Drug Content".

It was definitely submitted and received an R rating. I saw it during its limited theatrical run and it was missing several things that popped up in the unrated version.

I'll be buying all 3 titiles but it will be a bit disappointing if Feast isn't uncut.

I liked Feast, but I doubt I will upgrade.

One I would have been interested in is Eden Lake, but I already own the DVD. They even announced a blu-ray back when it was released, but it never happened.

Was it anything that would've added to more than a minute of footage?

I was under the impression the film ran a limited theatrical run and never received a rating since IMDB only lists two running times;

95 Minutes/87 Minutes (Hong Kong)

If it's the 87 minute version, there would be a substantial amount of footage missing. Also, Blu Ray.com lists the run time as 95 and Amazon.com says the film also runs 95 minutes and is Not Rated.

It's official:

Vivendi Visual Entertainment has announced four horror movies from the Weinstein/Dimension library for release on Blu-ray in the lead-up to the Halloween horror viewing season. The studio will release Pulse on September 7, Feast on September 14, Prey on September 28 and Black Christmas (the 2006 remake) on October 19. Edition details and special features have not been detailed.

In the latest ad from Home Media Magazine, Pulse and Feast both say "Unrated" on the cover. It also lists the Black Christmas remake for October 19th. SRP for each is $19.97.

Indeed. It's a travesty that this original classic isn't available on BD here in the States while all of the sequels, good and bad, are.
