We promised you a contest a week this October Madness, but like with the chlorophyll green meals in TROLL 2, one helping is never enough. We've got 3 Blu-rays of TROLL 2 to giveaway, all you have to do is tell us who your favorite creature is from a horror movie. Is it Blair Monster from THE THING? Cujo? The "Do you want some, Joshua?" goblin from TROLL 2? Rumpelstiltskin? You've got a century worth of great film beasts to chose from, make it a good one!

Just to avoid hearing the same ol' Jason, Freddy, Michael, picks, your selection has to be a non-human character. It could be an alien, troll, animal, unseen force, whatever, just no Spinells or serial killers. Tell us your favorite horror creature and you could win!

Make a single post in the thread below with your pick and a brief explanation as to why it's your favorite. All entries that meet the criteria will be entered in a draw to win 1 of 3 copies of TROLL 2 on Blu-ray from MGM/Fox.

The contest will be a quickie, running until Halloween night, Sunday, October 31st for our last October Madness hurrah. So hurry and get your entry in today.

Winners will be randomly selected based upon all the posts in this thread.

So what's it going to be...what's your favorite horror creature?

Belial Bradley for Basket Case.

I always thought the deformed siamese twin was creepy and cool. Climbing walls even though he was was just a blob with hands, ripping off peoples faces, even having sex with his brothers love interest. Belial is up these as one of my favourite creatures.

10-29-2010, 11:39 PM
Pumpkinhead scared the shit out of me as a kid so I've always had a soft spot for him as a favorite "creature."

10-29-2010, 11:49 PM
Im gonna throw some love to King Kong, with Pumpkinhead and The Creature from the black lagoon a close second and third. The reason I chose King Kong is because not only is he a huge scary fierce beast but there is a human element to him as well we can relate to and feel sorry for. This evolved from some sympathy for the very beast like less human first Kong movie to the I wanna give him a hug and go ice skating with Peter Jackson Kong. It seemed they played up the sentimental human side more and more with each remake. I love him in every one- I even love Son of Kong!

10-29-2010, 11:55 PM
I saw it as a kid and I still can't swim I'm the ocean. I'm 25 and married with kids, and whn I take the family swimming I'm on towel duty haha.

10-29-2010, 11:55 PM
I'll go with Belial Bradley for Basket Case as well.

10-30-2010, 12:00 AM
...hmmm...very tough call...I guess my favorite monster would have to be the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

10-30-2010, 12:02 AM
Henenlotter's films always have great creatures....my favorite would be Aylmer from Brain Damage.

10-30-2010, 12:12 AM
The shark in Jaws. Absolutely terrifying. I think about it every time I go in the water.

10-30-2010, 12:17 AM
Seth Brundle AFTER he becomes the Fly.

10-30-2010, 12:28 AM
I'll go with the short klown from Killer Klowns From Outer Space. The one who punches the biker's head off, his name is Shorty apparently. I love the design of all of the klowns, but especially that little guy.

10-30-2010, 12:34 AM
Whatever the thing is from Paranormal Activity because then I'd get to posess Katie Featherston.

10-30-2010, 12:55 AM
Creature From The Black Lagoon all the way!

10-30-2010, 01:34 AM
I've always loved the pint-sized demons in The Gate.

10-30-2010, 02:22 AM
Of course Alien then Predator, but I'd like to throw in the Ghoulies, cause they made my childhood entertaining.

10-30-2010, 02:22 AM
For me it's gotta be The Ghoulies I loved that series & yes even Ghoulies Go To College!!!!

Johnny Macabre
10-30-2010, 02:29 AM
For me, it's any of the Humanoids from Humanoids From The Deep!

10-30-2010, 02:42 AM
The crated creature from "Creepshow".

Why? It was the first creature that scared me as a child, even if it was funny.

In second comes the Cryptkeeper from "Tales From The Cryp" but I think he doesn?t classify as a non human character even if he?s only a skeleton.
Regarding some previous posts, I think Belial doesn?t qualify as non human.

10-30-2010, 02:44 AM
Henenlotter's films always have great creatures....my favorite would be Aylmer from Brain Damage.

Damn, and here I thought I'd be original by throwing that out there but yeah, definitely Aylmer from Brain Damage a seasonal favorite of mine.

Why are the stars always winkin' and blinkin' above?
It's not the season, the reason is plain as the moon.
It's just Elmer's Tune!

10-30-2010, 03:14 AM
Definitely Godzilla. Though I do like a lot of his buddies, as well.

10-30-2010, 03:19 AM
I have to go with Gremlins. They have everything, they can be creepy, funny, entertaining, and they multiply in water. One of my favorites!

10-30-2010, 03:33 AM
It's all about The Creature :)

Kaiju icons like Godzilla, Mothra and Gamera run a close second.

10-30-2010, 03:33 AM
The trolls in Troll 2 :)

10-30-2010, 03:56 AM
The gargoyle from the last segment of Tales from the Darkside:The Movie. The whole transformation part was awesome!

10-30-2010, 03:58 AM
Nobody said Pennywise from It?

Fucks wrong with you people?!?!?

10-30-2010, 04:18 AM
I've always really like The Creature From the Black Lagoon, he's humanoid but there's something about those eyes and the tall posture with scales that makes him creepy but still campy fun.

10-30-2010, 04:28 AM
In keeping with the spirit of the season, I'm going to go with Sam from Trick 'r Treat. He's definitely my favorite new horror creature and he's literally the embodiment of Halloween, my favorite holiday.

10-30-2010, 04:32 AM
I was gonna say the wolfman/werewolves in general, but that felt kind of uninteresting, so i looked over my collection, hoping for inspiration. the thing that jumped out at me was the blind dead collection. I really love the Templar Knights in those movies, especially the first. So thats what im going with.

bwana the clown
10-30-2010, 04:37 AM
I'm gonna go for those alien eggs in Contamination. Sure they're a blatant rip off, but way scarier than Alien eggs, what with their creepy-assed sound effects.

10-30-2010, 05:09 AM
I hate to be predictable, but the Xenomorph from the Alien saga wins hands down for me.
Unless the Tyrannosaur from Jurassic Park counts as a monster.

10-30-2010, 05:12 AM
I don't know if I can narrow it down to simply one favorite, but the shit weasels from Dreamcatcher are mighty horrific.

Erick H.
10-30-2010, 06:40 AM
The film is likely more in the fantasy category by the Pale Man from PAN'S LABYRINTH is a wonderful creation and one that truly seems conjured up from a nightmare.Just wonderfully creepy !

10-30-2010, 07:15 AM
My favorite is probably Pumpkinhead.... he's pretty unique. The ones that scared me most as a kid? Like someone above said, the monster in The Crate from Creepshow.... and also the mutated bear creature from Prophecy. :)

10-30-2010, 07:33 AM
My current favorite is probably the monster/thing from The Host. Second would be the huge extraordinarily tall tentacled thing from the Mist.

10-30-2010, 07:46 AM
S y n g e n or

10-30-2010, 07:59 AM
Godzilla! This was the one I watched as a kid and will always love.

Sinister Ash
10-30-2010, 08:23 AM
Jaws! My favorite creature movie when I was a kid (still is one of my favorites). I had a copy recorded from TV back in the day and I watched it till the tape snapped.

10-30-2010, 08:32 AM
I'm going with that gigantic toothy bastard from The Deadly Spawn. Not only does the movie have a great rainy atmosphere, but the creature is grotesquely unique and does unimaginable things to humans. Heads are plucked from torsos, faces are torn from skulls, and its offspring can burrow through a human body faster than a 7-layer burrito. For equal traces of gore and cheese, look no further than The Deadly Spawn.

10-30-2010, 09:14 AM
I love monsters, it would be hard for me to choose a favorite, except that there's one that became my childhood hero and obsession, and is still my favorite today: Godzilla, the undisputed King of All Monsters.

Nasty Nate
10-30-2010, 09:38 AM
Rawhead Rex.

10-30-2010, 09:54 AM
Octaman, because he sucks.

10-30-2010, 12:32 PM
I'm probably not serious here, but the first thing that truly popped into my mind was the beach ball alien from "Dark Star"

10-30-2010, 02:07 PM
The Creature from the Black Lagoon. One of the best monster designs ever.

10-30-2010, 02:29 PM
Sasquatch - Patterson film, 1967. Classic monster!

10-30-2010, 02:48 PM
Alien has got my vote! It terrified me when I saw it @ age 12!

10-30-2010, 03:13 PM
I will go with the creature from The Thing (1982) as it is just one organism, but has the power to conquer the known universe.

10-30-2010, 03:42 PM
I'd have to say Tarman from Return of the Living Dead. It is hard to believe that it is a costume.

10-30-2010, 04:47 PM
The "Vance-Monster" from "The Thing." The scene where Dr. Cooper is using the paddles on him only to have his arms bitten off is one of the greatest 'Holy shit' moments ever recorded on celluloid.

The dude also gives great head.

10-30-2010, 04:47 PM
I don't have a name for them, they probably don't even have a name but I have a fond memory of the creatures from the movie "They Bite". Real low budget humanoids ripoff that had Ron Jeremy in it. I remember watching it on VHS when I was younger and wish I could watch it again.

10-30-2010, 05:50 PM
I'll go with the horniest monsters in the history of the cinema--the Humanoids From The Deep.

10-30-2010, 07:36 PM
Gizmo and the Gremlins!

Probably the most adorably cute creature ever conceived (we've all wished they were real and wanted one as a pet), but get them wet or feed them after midnight and all Hell breaks loose!

10-30-2010, 08:38 PM
It's a classic... The Creature from the Black Lagoon! I love that film!

Conal Cochran
10-30-2010, 09:32 PM
I will go for Godzilla. Gotta think big, right?

10-30-2010, 09:41 PM
Creature from the Black Lagoon. It is one of my favorite movies and I enjoy this as much or more than any other creature feature

10-30-2010, 09:42 PM
I'm going with the Big G myself, make mine Godzilla!!!

10-30-2010, 10:41 PM
Pennywise the clown from IT and yes he is a creature of sorts.

10-30-2010, 11:24 PM
Wow. I think Belial is a great choice from Basket Case but when I think about what scared me most when I first saw it and enjoy today just as much, it would have to be....the Zuni Fetish Doll from Trilogy of Terror. Karen Black once converted was quite the beast too!!

10-30-2010, 11:43 PM
So many to choose from. I have to go with the alien from Alien though. Such an awesome design, and it scared the shit out of my 8 year old self when I first watched it.

Honorable mention goes to The Thing though. Such a scary thought that it could be anyone.

Iron Jaiden
10-31-2010, 01:04 AM
I'm goin with the The Stuff!
It's an alien life form.... that tastes like yogurt!

10-31-2010, 05:18 AM
Call me crazy, but I'm going to go with Hobgoblins. Those little guys crack me up.

10-31-2010, 05:19 AM
I would have to go with the creatures from "The Deadly Spawn" one of my favorite films. :)

10-31-2010, 08:47 AM
Those furry Critters from the Critters series.

10-31-2010, 02:02 PM
My favorite would have to be Pumpkinhead.

10-31-2010, 05:51 PM
My fave creature at the moment is the black oil slime from Creepshow 2's "The Raft" tied with "The Blob" from the fifties and 80's versions. I like goo.

10-31-2010, 06:02 PM
Tarman from Return of the Living Dead 1 & 2. That was probably the only horror movie as a kid that scared me and the image of him lurching forward wanting to eat your brains still creeps me out.

10-31-2010, 06:33 PM
The xenomorph from "Alien", just beautifully done AND insanely scary.

10-31-2010, 07:38 PM
This is a tough one! So many favourite creatures!

I'll have to go with the one that first popped into my mind and one I would love an action figure for.... ZOMBIE BIG BEN from HOUSE! Hell, any of the monsters from House are amazing.

10-31-2010, 07:48 PM
The slugs from Slither.

Mutilated Prey
10-31-2010, 08:14 PM
Cmon now, it's gotta be THE CHUD's!!!!

10-31-2010, 08:41 PM
Giger's Alien. Seriously...best monster ever.

10-31-2010, 09:22 PM
I love The Creature From The Black Lagoon ! It's one of my favorite monster movies, and the monster makeup was way ahead of it's time. A very cool concept !

11-01-2010, 01:14 AM

11-01-2010, 02:27 AM
Giger's Alien in Alien. It's sexy and terrifying.

11-01-2010, 02:59 AM
I don't know if I'd say its scary now, but when I was a kid the only movie that ever really gave me a nightmare was The Blob, so I guess that'd get my vote.

11-01-2010, 03:43 AM
Hands down, it's got to be the Alien creature. That is the most bad-ass (and original) monster ever. HR Giger rules.

Darryl Revok
11-01-2010, 03:59 AM
Cloverfield. what's this 'Zilla creature everyone keeps talkin bout?

11-01-2010, 04:27 AM
The spider lady from Spookies

11-01-2010, 06:21 AM
