Who wins?

01-03-2002, 08:50 AM
Homer: "Doht!"
Cartman: "Screw you guys!"
Bart: "No way man!"
Maggie: *(suck,suck)*
Kyle: "Kick the baby!"
Al: "That's super!"

South Park for me.

South Park hands down

Oh please, The Simpsons have been going down hill for the last few years now; South Park on the other hand has still remained to be extremely funny. And that abortion scene in laast years Christmas episode proves that. :D

I went South Park... watched a couple episodes this week (after a few months off) and that shit is soo funny. Simpsons is great too, but like what someone said earlier, its going down slowly... too much sight gags and whatnot now.
But ya... South Park. Cartman rocks!

Well, the poll doesn't specify, so assuming we are talking about the entire run of The Simpsons VS the entire run of South Park...pitting the best shows and characters of each against the other...then it's no contest: The Simpsons

The Simpsons, easy.

07-17-2005, 11:37 PM
South Park isn't even on the same planet.

Simpsons, the show is a classic.

It's really hard for me to choose, but I find myself watching my South Park dvds a lot more often than my Simpsons. I'll have to go with South Park, the raunchiness and in-your-face humor just makes it a lot easier to go back to.

I love'em both, but I voted for The Simpsons. The interesting question to me though is what would the Simpsons be like if they had the extra freedom of being on a cable network, versus say if South Park had debuted on network television and had to follow stricter broadcast guidelines.

And when can I expect a Family Guy versus Futurama poll?

07-18-2005, 02:40 AM
The Simpsons even though they're not as good any longer, but it used to be the funniest thing on TV.

07-18-2005, 03:37 AM
even at its best, the Simpsons could never compare to South Park.

07-18-2005, 04:51 AM
Le Simpsons, of course.

07-18-2005, 05:16 AM
The Simpsons!

07-18-2005, 05:24 AM
The Simpsons gets the nod. The hilarious BASEketball is the only thing Parker and Stone have been involved in that I actually like.

07-18-2005, 05:35 AM
WOW, this is an old thread (01-03-2002). So it took y'all this long to decide which show was the best?! I still like South Park more by the way.

yeah man South Park gets BETTER over time, The Simpsons just get worse......that series needs to end NOW!

I dunno. I really don't think I can even vote on this poll. I love them both equally, old, new, whatever.

07-18-2005, 10:49 AM
South Park is good but it has nothing on the Simpsons.

I don't think that's a fair statement, since South Park ( which started in 1997) is still in the prime of its series, while The Simpsons (which stated in 1989) has been around for many more seasons and, yes, is on a decline now. Give South Park the same shelf life as The Simpsons has had and then compare how long each show was able to maintain its edge.

I had to go with the Simpsons. I love South Park, but sometimes it's too obvious that they sat around a table saying, "Hmmm, what's the most disgusting and offensive thing we can do this week?" The Simpsons have been on forever and have been losing steam but at least they helped put adult-oriented (albeit kid friendly at the same time) cartoons into the mainstream with smart, witty dialogue and stories. South Park is just stupid and crude....not that that isn't funny too! :)

07-18-2005, 04:45 PM
SOUTH PARK is funny, but I can't see myself watching the same episodes over and over years later the way I do with the SIMPSONS.

The shows are really too different to make a good comparison....the only things they really have in common are that they're both animated.

I have to agree with this statement.
I also had to vote for the The Simpsons, as in their prime they were the best shit ever.
I do love South Park though, I just love the Simpsons more and longer (and harder and faster :) ).

Had to go with the Simpsons although (admittedly) I haven't seen either show in a while.

I don't know how to start "voting" threads. Can someone please start one for during which Season did the Simpsons really start to suck? I'll be your best friend.

07-22-2005, 05:06 PM
I haven't watched it in years...seems like it started to suck in the late Nineties, maybe, or else not long afterward.

The trouble with South Park is that so much of the humor is topical--I don't think it's going to age very well.

We're gonna need a bigger payday than that. :p

Simpsons sucks!
South Park Rocks!

07-22-2005, 10:21 PM
For me it`s very hard to choose cause i love them both.
But it`s so diffrent sense of humor.

But I picked Simpsons beacause I always watch an episode of Simpsons or Seinfeld when
I eat dinner when i get home from work every day.

South Park can't even wear the Simpsons (in it's prime) jock strap.

08-19-2005, 10:31 PM
I went with South Park. Stopped watching Simpsons back when they were still funny about 5 years ago!

08-21-2005, 03:09 AM
I dont even consider this to be a contest. Simpsons hands down. Its the most well written show on TV to this day. And to anyone that thinks its slipping, you're wrong. They still churn out quality shows every season.
