Ok. I know Phantasm is due on Bluray soon. But I had this idea a while ago.

Anyway.... the concept is for a special edition utilizing seamless branching to create something that really hasn't been done with a movie to this extent. There is around 90 min of footage shot for the film that wasn't used. Have a special edition where there are maybe 10 different versions of the film. Don himself could create these using a lot of that footage. Imagine watching the film over and over and seeing something completely different each time. We could see the Tall Man die different ways. Or maybe not at all. Maybe it is a dream and maybe it isn't. I can't think of a film other than Phantasm that this would be more appropriate for.

Let me know what you all think.

Could be interesting, the only snag I can see is what is the state of that other footage?

Is there a street date for Phantasm yet?

Considering that some of that deleted footage appears in part 4 and looks pristine I would venture it is in good condition.

From what I know Don has the rights to the movie not some studio. So that wouldn't be an issue. And he has all of the footage as well.

Personally, I'd be content to simply have all of the footage as extras. Turning it into a "choose your own adventure" using seamless branching seems a little too George Lucas. I'd rather see Coscarelli better spend his time on entirely new projects, like his upcoming film JOHN DIES AT THE END. The plot sounds really fantastic. I'm excited for it. :)

Well if he replaced Angus with a CGI Tall Man that would be pulling a real "George Lucas" LOL

Man don't kis about that. That's not funny!!!! But in a perfect world I would love a blu-ray version of the U.K. box set they put out a couple years ago. All the movies & a bonus disc in a sphere container.
