Here it goes;
I bought this dvd, put it my player, found 2 easter eggs that played perfectly, then tried to play the movie.
I chose widescreen and the blue "this film has been rated r" screen comes up.
Then it switches titles, but the blue "r" screen is still showing. I can hear the sound from the start of the movie but only see the blue r-screen. At 14 seconds it freezes. No functions on the remote work, and I hit eject. The player then says play. I hit eject again and it comes out.
Take the disc back and get a new one, and get the exact same problem.
My player is a Toshiba 3109. I also have a Sampoo multi-region player. It plays fine in the Sampoo, but I don't have a good stereo so no 5.1 sound (I just have 5.1 inputs, no decoder except in the Toshiba player).
Does anyone else have this model player, and if so can you play this dvd. I want the movie, but want to watch with 5.1 sound through my main player (hooked up with componet video so it looks better too). Is this disc just not compatable with this player, or does the store have a bad batch of discs?
Side 2 works fine on both players, but even full screen won't play, and going to chapter selections leads right back to the r-screen.
ERRRRRRRRRRR
Help!

I bought Jeepers Creepers on release day and have had some problems with it too. I have an old Toshiba 2107 model and the picture and sound freeze at 36:04 on the Widescreen version of the movie. The pan-and-scan plays perfectly. It sounds like a lot of Toshiba owners are having similar problems so it must be some time of widespread player incompatibility problem. Check out this site (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=172708) for some more information.
By the way, what easter eggs did you find on the disc. I have not really looked around but am curious to know what is there. Thanks!

Mine played perfectly on my RCA player. I have an old Toshiba player, I'll check it out on that one soon and see if it messes up.
Yeah! What easter eggs did you find?
One of the easter eggs is a short interview of the writer for the movie "Duel." He just tells how he came up with the idea. I didn't know there was another one though.

I just found another one. It's in the Cast and Crew Filmographies. Go to Victor Salva, click to view his filmography. Once you are there press the "UP" arrow key and it'll highlight an X. Click it and you'll see his cameo he made in the movie.

Just wanted to report Jeeper worked just fine on my JVC XV-SA70BK, but I have heard multiple reports of people having the "rating freeze" on their discs.

Another Egg for Jeepers Creepers, on the main menu screen on side 1 of the DVD, select the last choice which I think is "LANGUAGE" and then press towards the left....
You should highlight a strand of rope now...
Press enter and the part of the menu screen towards the right now shows the creature's eye moving around instead of scenes from the movie.....
Cool movie too.....Worked fine, but I did notice the sound dropped twice. Got low for like 3 to 4 seconds then went back to normal volume. ????????

Finally saw the movie last nite. Even though I fell asleep a few times , it was still pretty good. I liked the ending too :D.
Oh, and am I the only one that finds horror movies that take place during the day frightening? Daytime gives me that sense of security (i.e. I can see everything), but then when there are scenes like the long driveby of the "guy" dumping the bodies down the pipe and then just staring at them....DAMN! That's just really creepy to me. I dunno why, but I like it and wish more movies had the balls to take place during the day :D.

Still no luck on the Toshiba 3109, ERRRRRRRRR.
Did watch it on the Sampoo and liked it even more than the theater. Good freaky shit. The deleted scenes were pretty weak IMO. Good doc., weird feeling watching it after hearing about Salva's fucked up past doings, then seeing he was like 400 pounds. Good director, bad person.
Still dig the movie, good point on the daylight scenes, the scarecrow was the shit too.

Good job i have 2 machines, cos yep i had 2 problems with jeep creep.First off after the blue R screen the damn thing froze on my new Pioneer.
Then after a switch back to my old Panny 350, it played fine until chapter 16, when they run the creeper over. the picture just went ape shit, pixels everywhere, i went on to chapter 17, and then had no problems. So yes there does seem to be some glitches with this movie
