I really like dark, atmospheric, nihilistic, 'loner with bad childhood' slashers like New York Ripper, Maniac, Don't Go in the House, Toolbox Murders (will this ever be on dvd?). I am not talking about movies like Halloween or Friday the 13th (although I also like those) but the real sleeeeeazy ones. Suggestions ?

Hmmm...how about `Nightmares in a Damaged Brain` or `House by the Edge of the Park`..ermmmm `Island of Death` (although its not so much a slasher film but well seedy!) and of course `LUCKER : THE NECROPHAGUS` (although ive only heard of a plot outline and i havent managed to get a copy yet!) is meant to be pretty sick and twisted.:D if thats ya bag!!

I watched Hitchcock's 'Frenzy' tonight. Brilliant ! This must be the sleaziest and most brutal movie he has ever made. The Master of Suspense' 'New York Ripper'. The scene in the potato truck is priceless. Watch it !

I know this isn't quite what you mean, but my favorite sleazy slasher film is Devil's Nightmare. When the DVD was announced I literally jumped for joy. It's still in my top ten. I have really fond memories of watching this film as a kid. Man, it just oozes sleaze, and not subpar sleaze like a Jean Rollin film.

A Night To Dismember. It's not only sleazy as hell, it's also a great party film. Check it out.

on tape, try to rent Demented (1980) and Don't Go in the House (`980). Nightmare (aka Nightmares in a Damaged Brain) is a total experience in Sleaze!
I also found the Love Butcher to be quite sleazy and a total turnoff. Seek info on them via IMDB and then seek out the tapes. By the way, these films only work on VHS. DVD is too good a format for those films.

Devil's Nightmare is a winner, top sleaze! Don't Go In The House is great too. Maniac - the forst scalping scene where she's posing in the hotel room is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Nightmares In A Damaged Brain - yep, great sleazy & scummy performances there too.

Giallo In Venice - what a nasty dirty film! Patrick Via Ancora - not exactly a slasher, but sure has that porno rough feel to it, and some top nudity. Mario Landi is a scum genius.

The shower pitchforking in The Prowler is a wet naked doozy!
Eyes Of A Stranger is a good sleazy one. Also Excess In Fultenkeller - utter mad Japanese violent scum.

Gotta agree with, among others, Maniac, NYR, Devil's Nightmare and the Prowler pitchforking.

Fun, fun, fun!

"Excess in fultenkeller". You're sure this is the correct title ? I couldn't find anything about this movie on the net.

What Blazing meant was "Exzesse im Folterkeller" also known as "Dabide no hoshi: bishoujo-gari " or "Beautiful Girl Hunter".

For sleaze, I recommend H.G. Lewis' The Gore Gore Girls.

Yep, that's the one. Stephen Furst of Animal House fame played "Junior."

Another sleazy film was Edge of Sanity with Anthony Perkins. (A long way from Psycho.)

Funny you should mention Stephen Furst as "Junior".

Ever seen that little canadian made sleaze-fest called "Junior" aka "Hot Water"?
It's about two chicks who, after getting released from jail, open up some kind of business at a lake. That's when they start having trouble with the local rednecks, especially with a retarded mama's boy called "Junior"...
It's a fun little flick I haven't seen in a while. I remember the video box cover making you believe it's some sort of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" movie.

Anyways, Edge Of Sanity is another sleazy winner.

Nope, but I've seen it in video stores. The cover has some crazy looking dude with a chainsaw ripping into it. I'll check it out sometime.

Eyes of a Stranger - good film, but fluxes between
sleeze and TV-movie quality. I remember seeing this on Ebert's Sneak Previews back in the day and they liked everything about it except for the violence...resulting in the classic thumbs down.

Jesus god, take a look at this review of 'dweller' - one of the titles on the disc.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0385667/

Sounds it was written by the actor/producer/director/FX man/composer & christ knows what else.
I particularly like the line 'The film decides to take a sharp, and very calculated, turn in direction, switching from a bloody Arthur Penn-like gangster film, to a creepy, man versus the unknown, sci-fi outing.'

Although the movie itself is pretty boring, Driller Killer is about as sleezy as you can get. New York slasher flicks seem to always be this way. Also, Tony Coca Cola is the fuckin man.

If it's twisted and nihilistic you are looking for, look no further than Beyond The Darkness available from Shriek Show on DVD. Not really a slasher film really, but I am sure it will appeal to you if you are a fan of Don't Go In The House, Maniac and Toolbox Murders.

The sleaziest slasher has to be that movie within a movie in BLOW OUT. We only get to see a few minutes of COED FRENZY, but already there are people having sex at a party, a women masturbating and a prowler in the showers. All this, and Rob Zombie wasn't even making movies yet.

Arabella,The Black Angel is as sleazy as Solange,Strip Nude For Your Killer, and Giallo a Venezia. Its available from European Trash Cinema and the dvd r print is watchable at best. Well worth picking up for the nudity and sleaze factors alone.

That's not cranberry sauce, Artie!

I second LADY, STAY DEAD. I think within the first few minutes you see a man having sex with a hole in the sand while spying on a woman. Wait another five and he rapes her. The fact that he looks like the unibomber makes it all the better. The feel good film of the year.

I remember the old Intervision box from the good old days of video, but only got around to watching it last year.

Considering the abundance of gagging, slapping, peeing and any number of other forms of female degrading porn genres, I'd probably say he was being sarcastic.

Something like Maniac just can't compete with stuff like pissmops.com, you know?

Did anybody mention "Island of Death" yet? That one is a definite sleaze-fest that has to be seen to be believed. I believe it's a greek film? I have a bootleg vhs of it, not sure if there's a dvd release or not? Hey all, that "Pieces" dvd from Diamond, is that worth buying. I've never seen it but heard so much about it over the years I'm tempted to snag one off ebay.

Of course! I love that flick. I was dying laughing when the older chick gets peed on and at first she's like "wtf!" and then gets into it like "oooo, ahhhh, yeeees"

Island of Death is on DVD - pretty decent transfer too.

The Diamond version of Pieces is OK, but DVDCompare.net states "The print on this DVD was apparently taken from the old out of print Vestron VHS and it doesn’t look too bad."

My copy of Pieces is from the Blood Bath 4-Pack, which I'm assuming is the same print - not too bad at all considering that's all there is. I thought I heard somewhere they were doing another release of this flick, but can't recall.

I see Amazon is selling this version of it:
