"I understand that you have to give this film a great deal of respect because it was one of the first modern day horror flicks. However, I found that time has seriously dulled Romero's "classic" dubbed film, Night of the Living Dead. The special effects look comical in a lot of instances and the sudden cuts show make it look like a monkey edited this film together.........."
The reviewer is clueless.

What do you expect when his list of other films he liked more includes Scream? Somehow when I read that quote I knew that he would compare this to Scream....I just knew it.
What type of plot does he want? I think in this case the less we know the better. It adds to the suspense. Why are the dead coming back to life? No one knows. All they know is they need to get the hell out of there but they're surrounded.
It's that damn MTV rotting peoples brains.....

Too bad horrordvds.com hasn't reviewed this DVD yet.
All I want to know is how much better does this version look and sound compared to Elite's first DVD & laserdisc release? Damn Amazon! Still waiting for my pre-ordered disc to get here.

For horror reviews go to a horror site. I guess only true horror fans can enjoy a film like NOTLD and realize it's importance.

I basically started reviewing because of this...
The problem is movies cant be reviewed as a whole, they must be reviewed by genre. Drunken Master may not be as intelligent, dramatic, emotional, or imaginative as Ingmar Bergmans Seventh Seal or The Elephant Man, but for an HK kung fu film, its a 4 1/2-5 star groundbreaking, great kung fu film. But if you look around you can find reviewers giving Drunken Master 3-2 1/2 stars, because they obviously dont know the genres history and are incapable of judging it correctly. You dont watch Re-Animator and compare its story content, directing, costuming, budget, and overal drama acting to Gone with the Wind.
Oddly, the reviewer of that review does give the disc a good review (despite being unable to access many of the extras?), and he is biased, but upfront about it, saying he hadnt seen it and expected more (and he likes Carnival of Souls). Besides, a reader that is easily swayed by one reviewers opinion is just as bad as any ego crazed, ignorant, biased reviewer.

I think the dick didn't realise there was a second disc, that was why he couldn't find some of the extras :)

2nd disc? I thought NOTLD ME was a single disc.
Paff will be reviewing this. I believe he's already started the review.

I thought NOTLD:ME was 1 disk also? Hmm...
Anyways, I haven't seen a copy of that movie yet! I have it on order at Suncoast so it should arrive soon. I can't wait for the Re-Animator: ME. I wonder if Bride Of ReAnimator will get a Millinnium Edition too? Has anyone heard what the next ME's are going to be?
