yea so i saw this today. i dunno if there was another thread on this that i missed, but i found this movie to be pretty fresh.
had some dope gore (whcih was surprising) and real nice action. this movie is no masterpeice, but its deifnitally worth seeing and is a worthy sequal to the equally good Blade 1.

so who else seen this??? and what you think of it!???

I thought this surpassed the original, was more dark in places, elements of good horror the first one lacked a bit. More action, and Blade was very amusing in places, his teaming up with the vampires, was a joy to watch, great characters, and director really gave made some scenes jump at you, and some clever plot twists that made be doubt some characters like whister, I thought that was great, operating on a thiller level as well.

Blade 2 is not just a great sequal, but very fresh and enjoyable, it made me laugh, enjoyed the action, had horror elements to it, so made me jump in places, and very in spirit to the comic books. Goes along at a great pace.

It's a classic for me.

Excellent

Not only did this movie have more horror elements in it...it also had a Hong Kong flavor also. The martial arts were better than the first. If you are a fan of Hong Kong cinema you would reconize HK superstar Donnie Yen playing the vampire
"Snowman".
All in all it was a kick ass movie!!

I couldnt agree more. I thought that this movie actually surpassed the first one in terms of story, violence, gore, action and even some humor. Ron Perlman kicked ass. The Reapers were a welcome and fresh addition to the story. I'm so glad they actually wrote a sequel that didnt copy the original pretty much scene for scene (the Back to the Future movies come to mind.....) and the gore factor was just high enough for a diehard gorehound like myself. I cant wait to pick up that reported 2-disc set when it hits shelves........

Personally, I liked the first one better. I liked the idea of this second movie and the action scenes though. Gore is fine and dandy, but it doesn't make a movie for me (not that it takes away from it).

I thought it was a bad idea that they gave the main villain the "right" to seek regvenge and then basically take it away. After all, Blade began by seeking revenge, so there isn't anything wrong with this villain (who was still cool) doing the same thing, right? So they deal with that by making him turnout to be an evil asshole anyway. After he gets his revenge, he still attacks Blade (cuz now he's just bad and mean).

And since when did vampire have souls? Yeah, I know they actually didn't, but suddenly vampires are just misunderstood and oppressed by the man or some BS (at least the pretty females born as).

So long as you don't think about the inconsistent aspects of the plot of the movie, it's a fine ride. But then I can say the same thing for a ton of movie that I do like (ID4, Armageddon).

Although it's pretty minor, what ruined it for me (maybe ruined is not such a good word, because i did like it after all) was the cg fx. I could have done without the far-too-obvious computer graphic fight sequences (which would have been fine if I were set to watch an animated feature). I think those scenes took something away from what otherwise was some cool choreography. It's like I'm watching real-life fighting and then some idiot turned the channel to the Cartoon Network.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, it just kinda threw me off balance when I saw "DragonBall Z" flash on the screen.

Donnie Yen is one of my favorites. I was kinda dissapointed that he only had one good fight scene though. I heard he did a lot of the choreography for this movie. Anybody ever seen Legend of The Wolf (AKA The New Big Boss?) One of my favorite Donnie Yen films.

Good Movie, with some cheesy parts. About 2. One where Whistler and Blade were talking about the poontang vamp girl. and the other where he gets' his sun glasses back after killing that asshole vamp in the vamp stronghold

I liked this movie more so than the original. More gore, more special moves and an interesting story plot. Though the wrestling moves and Power Puff Girls were a bit bizare...
