Yep, there were a few stinkers...

Yeah there are quite a bit of stinkers there, but Helly, I think you forgot one. ;):D

I picked Oasis Of The Zombies. It is so confused and uninspired in its approach, and all the production values are rock bottom. I dig those cheese Euro zombie films like Burial Ground and Nightmare City, but this one just stinks.

i picked Oasis too, it sucked big time

Technical wise, A NIGHT TO DISMEMBER beats them all; however, it had a few reasonably enjoyable moments. On the other hand, MICROWAVE MASSACRE is just a horribly dull, boring, talky, shoddily made piece of junk only good for insomniacs - so the latter gets my vote.

Uh-hu. You'll be surprised which film is going to end up in the "worst flick of 1981" category...*evil laugh*
;)

STREET TRASH; I agree, "A Night To Dismember" beats them all. That film is so unbelievable bad that you just got to love it!
I know the film had a some troubled production but the final result is simply incredible.
I've watched "Dismember" right after Lynch's "Mulholland Dr.", it was quite a trip, I tell ya. ;)

A NIGHT TO DISMEMBER is such a mish-mashed mess of incompetency, horrible dubbing and sound effects, library music, HG Lewis style gore, random shots of absolutely nothing, and footage culled from various sources, it goes beyond the limit of surrealism, and almost becomes an art form. Definitely not something Wishman could've done purposely.

I spotted MULHOLLAND DRIVE at Best Buy last week, looks like I may have to pick it up tomorrow when I go.

lol, agreed.
I wonder how "Dismember" would have turned out to be if filming/production went smoothly back then.

My guess: probably not so amusing as it is now.

Oasis of the Zombies was so freakin bad that after 45 minutes into the dvd, I had to turn it off....watch 2 episodes of Who's the Boss and the beginning of Dude, Wheres My Car? before I had the willpower to turn it back on and finish it.

The Being gets my vote. It's a miserable excuse for a movie. Where's my barf bag?

Doris Wishman's A Night To Dismember..ranks as one of the worst of ALL time..let alone 1983. It is truely mind numbingly bad. :nervous:

I haven't seen a single film in this list, but I have Mountaintop Motel Massacre & A Night To Dismember on order. Yikes. Haha.

i have only seen two of these movies, Oasis of the Zombies and Rats...Oasis was good, Rats wasn't, but i suppose i'll refrain from voting based on that :) Some of the titles do promise to be worse than Rats.

PS: Too bad if a movie called 'the Forest' was bad. Such a wasted opportunity, i love forests.

that's true, forests are pretty rad.

A Night To Dismember would have to get my vote. It's fun to watch and laugh at it, the commentary is great... but the film itself terrible beyond belief.

I actually like most of the other films on the list. Skullduggery is grand.

the boogeyman 2, which was just a collection of clips from the first movie ( which i love)

MrKateB

I also went with Boogeyman 2, just because of the sheer gall of the filmmakers using about 90% recycled footage...

Most of those are fun flicks but Boogeyman 2 is the worst.
