I'll definitely be purchasing this NTSC DVD when it hits the streets. I've never seen this movie but it looks a lot better (i.e. higher budget) than I imagined from reviews, etc.
The extra visible area is appreciated on this release - superb.
What's the planned release date of this film? Can you share some more info with the readers, i.e. other planned titles, release dates, etc?

aren't the USA DVDs of the Guinea Pig films supposed to be double bills as well? I've heard that Android is the weakest in the series (I've never seen any of them), but it still looks quite good. HAve any retailers got this listed yet?

yea, Fart Lighter, Android comes double billed with The Devils Experiment.

I'm kinda glad now that I never got an unsubtitled bootleg of Guinea Pig. The one that looks the best is Mermaid in a Manhole. Can't wait for that one.

what are the image specs? Are they WS? if so: anamorhic? Apart from the minor cropping,is there any other disadvantage to the Shock version?
06-08-2002, 02:42 AM
they are full frame... since they were shot on video... i dunno about shock, if your talking about japan shock... i didnt know they released it on dvd except for that flower of flesh and blood... the one i compared it to was the devils pictures box set release... which im told was an ntsc to pal conversion so im guessing the japan shock one is the pal version converted back to ntsc... im not sure though.
