WOAH!!!! i just watched gremlins 2 on tv last night on the SPACE channel and i noticed a totally different scene that i have never seen!!
it was at the part where the gremlins wreck the film role and they attack leonard maltin. instead of that scene they had Hulk Hogan yelling at them. wierd.
anyone ever seen this?!??!
There's a WHOLE lot a different crap in that sequence. When it went to Video, Dante reedited the film adding scenes and taking parts out. The version that played in theaters has never showed up on video to my knowledge.

Actually, I can remember a different scene in place of the Hogan cameo on video. It’s been a while, but on video there is a western shootout of sorts and I believe the Duke puts them in their place. On TV though it’s the Hogan cameo, which I personally didn’t find as funny. I never watched it in the theaters, so I’m not sure what was in that cut.
I’m curious to see how they present all this footage on the DVD…

It's been so long since I've seen this. I dont remember most of it anymore. Its nice to know that WB is giving this movie a decent treatment. And the 1st one, which really deserves it.

I saw Gremlins 2 in the theatres & I always remembered the Hulk Hogan scene in there (I remember it vividly...because I thought it was one of the dumbest parts in the movie). I also recall the Leonard Maltin attack in the theatrical version. but I seriously don't recall "The Duke" at all!

Here's what IMDB says:
Two different versions of this film: one for the theatre, one for video. The difference is that in the theatrical version, it appears that the film begins to burn, however, in the video version, this segment is replaced by a segment which simulates a broken VCR machine.
The cinema version featured Hulk Hogan shouting at the gremlins to start the film again; the video version features John Wayne.
Cable and broadcast television shows the theatrical, not video, release version.
The video version omits appearances by Paul Bartel, Belinda Balaski, Kenneth Tobey, and Hulk Hogan.

Let's hope that all versions are included on the DVD - at least in the form of deleted scenes - so I can junk my VHS.
