I just scored this film on-line...does anyone know about the quality of the disc? Rot? Edited? Color fildelity, ect?
Were you the bastard who got it from Big Emma's? I was trying to get it too but someone beat me to it. :)
Anyway, there were multiple Japanese releases of Friday the 13th. To my knowledge, only one was uncut. So it is possible, assuming you got the one from Big Emma's, that it's cut. Still, for the $13.00 asking price it's worth a chance.
Full frame, poor transfer is what I heard.

For anyone who's seen the "uncut" version of Friday the 13th, may I ask, what's cut out from the American release? And what's the Japanese LD version to get (Company, Cover Art)? Any info would be appreciated.

BTW: The uncut version does show a little more sauce, but as I've stated before, its not much of a revelation.

I'm more than happy with the R1 DVD of this I've got. There are a few scenes that Paramount forgot to omit in the release and those are good enough for me. I'm not going to hunt down an uncut version of this one. Now, if its uncut versions of the sequels you're talking about.........

Part 1 would definitely be worth getting uncut on DVD, because Paramount really screw up with the decapitation of Jason's mom.

if you want an uncut version of F13, there is always the HK VCD! though it's full frame, the video/audio quality is pretty good. i plan on holding onto this and not getting a dvd version until a special edition uncut dvd comes out (which i doubt will ever happen).
