...wasn't great but ok.

I know I will be alone on this one, but I loved John Carpenter's Village of the Damned. None of the other films even come close IMO.

If In The Mouth of Madness was included I would have voted for it though.

Lord of Illusions....excellent movie.

Scott Bakula's one of my favourite actors and Clive Barker's nothing short of a genius, IMHO.

I vote for Halloween 666: PRODUCER'S CUT. It was a much better film than what was released in the theater.

07-04-2002, 12:50 AM
Damn, I've never seen the producer's cut.
I guess its that good huh?

I thought it was good. You have to consider the competition. If this were made any other year, I'm sure Halloween 6: Producer's Cut wouldn't get my vote.

If you can get it on eBay for a reasonable price I recommend it for Halloween fans. It is a bootleg of course.

What a pathetic year, I voted for "Tales From The Hood". I really wish more African-American Filmmakers would make more horror films, it would be nice to stir things up a bit.

Went with Demon Knight. Not a lot to pick from this year.

Loved TFTC: Demon Knight, don't quite know why, but I liked it.
(1995 sucked worse than 1996, huh?)

Village of the Damned. I love everything that Carpenter does.

07-12-2002, 05:26 PM
Village Of The Damned... a great remake only Carpenter could do.

I just finished watching a little seen ghost flick called Haunted, and if it was on this list, I'd pick it as the best film of 1995 easily. An underseen gem!

Damn I couldn't vote cause all these movies blow

I totally disagree, but to each their own.

All in all, a pretty bleak horror year!! Nothing that warrants classic status.

The Addiction Ferrara rules!!

Tales from the Hood was really good. You could see the ending coming from a mile away though.

09-07-2002, 01:00 AM
Actually, LORD OF ILLUSIONS is Barker's best film if you ask me, and is definitely a classic. Again, to each their own.

Demon Knight... I saw this one in the theater. Fun flick!

Wow, in that case I will have to see Lord of Illusions.

I voted for Tales from the Hood. Excellent horror film and one of the best of the decade. Great writing, excellent acting, twists that actually work, it was scary, it was smart, and it was ground-breaking. Especially the one with Walter and "the Monster." I love that story's ending scene, though it was absurdly and unfairly brutal, the reveal was incredible. And for whatever reason, I love that line - "Wwaaalturrr! Youuu littull muuthurrfuckurrrr!"

06-16-2008, 05:27 PM
another terrible 1990's year, worst decade for horror ever

06-16-2008, 05:34 PM
Ya-you mentioned that. About a hundred times.

Haven't seen Lord of Illusions since it was a new release. All the discussion here makes me want to check it out again. I voted for The Prophecy. It has Christopher Walken and Viggo Mortensen among many others, plus it's the movie from this list I have watched the most.
