I saw this one when I was little, and was always freaked out by the VHS box artwork, but I can't remember anything else about this slasher film.

Was it any good? Anyone have anything of interest to say about this film?

Well, I just rewatched this today. Last time I have seen Deadly Intruder was back in the golden days of video rentals.

It's an ok Slasher that borrows from Halloween and bits of First Blood. There are a few neat kills, but not very gory. The red herrings are handled rather clumsy but I did dig the electronic score.

If anything, this is an overlooked slasher. The kind of film Anchor Bay should have released to DVD 12 years ago. Worth tracking down but lower your expectations.

Wes should be very happy that somebody finally answered his thread. It's only taken ten years!

I have the Thorn Emi VHS and have yet to watch it. It's one of those movies I used to always see on the shelves as a kid in the movie rental store, but could never bring myself to rent it for some reason. Now it's been sitting in my house for 3 years yet to be watched - I'll get there one day!

if it doesn't turn your crank, it would look mighty snazzy with the rest of my thorn-emi tapes, so keep me in mind!

It's not terrible, but a little bland. Remember, 1984/1985 was a time where the remaining slashers were not being backed up as much by money. Still, I'd buy this if it made DVD. And yes, very overlooked.

A 10-year thread resurrection... you don't always see that every day! Wow. :eek1:

Ever manage to revisit this title in the past decade, Wes? I'm wondering if I should check it out myself. I can't say if I've ever seen it or not. I've seen The Intruder Within, but clearly this is a horse of a different color.

I have 2 or 3 copies of the thorn EMI VHS (got them cheap at video stores) because I know theres no DVD release in sight, could be worth something someday

I really love the atmosphere of the film - it looks like it takes place on the edge of a small town on a quiet, lonely night, near a fairly major highway. The weirdo who plays the drifter also wrote the movie. Theres a few cool death scenes too. I can't say the plot plays out logically but still I enjoyed it
