Anyone Finding MGM's Upcoming Aug. 27th Titles Early?

I remember last year I found almost all of the mgm august titles a month ahead of schedule at best buy and borders in late july. This year I haven't been as lucky, so far anyway. Has anyone here found any on the shelves yet?

I check my Best Buy every week for early releases. I found Dagon a few weeks early. I'll be sure to get any new flicks I can find. Hopefully they let ROTLD slip out.

A local used CD/DVD store had Last House On The Left on the shelf the other day.....for 19.99!.....five bucks more than the MSRP. I'm waiting for BB to get it for half the price.

Best Buy has been a little weak lately. To the best of my knowledge, they still don't have any of the new AB titles that came out last week, and they're actually out. It would be awsome to get ROTLD and Last House early, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I'm just hoping they'll actually get the new Revenge of Frankenstein disc in on Tuesday. And has anybody found Them, I've been looking all over for that damn disc.

Yes , Revenge is the second Hammer Frankenstein. The trailer from Revenge has scenes from Curse in it.

Hey I found Seepaway Camp 2 today! That's right it comes out Tuesday, but I found it today! That counts as early right? It's not an MGM August 27th though, and it was at Suncoast so it was $20. Which is more than I'm paying for the whole set.

In Canada future shop has had the box set out on the shelves for almost a week :) and they have the the fourth disk, and according to alot on internet sites the bonus disk is showing up in other stores including circut city and sam goody.

They have shipped me 3 of the 4 MGM titles i had in preorder!!
I always buy my dvds on Cnl.com.They have shipped me The fog,Return of the living dead and Motel hell/deranged.
So i guess i will have them on Monday,and i hope last house on the left will come next week too!!

I found the Sleepaway Camp Box Set a week early at Sam Goody and it did include the fourth disc. That's all that I found early though.

I went to a Saturday Matinee (similar to Suncoast for those not familiar) and got Last House, and The Fog. They also had Return fo the Living Dead, and Deranged/Motel Hell. I aslo picked up the Pulp Fiction SE. All were $14.99, except the The Fog $19.99, Pulp was $19.99 as well. Very suprised!! They also had Revenge of Frankenstein two weeks early, for those mentioning this film on the thread. Peace

I went to Best Buy yesterday to take advantage of the Jackie Brown/Pulp Fiction/From Dusk Til' Dawn deal... Asked the chubby employee that was hovering around the video section if they had Last House and Return up early, and he said they may have them but wont stock them until the release date. He said they used to stock stuff early, but then Disney somehow caught wind of it and fined the store, so they quit stocking stuff early. Damn Mouse.

This past Thursday I found Deranged/Motel Hell at Best Buy.
I found Return of the Living Dead, The Fog, and Last House on the Left at Coconuts. The Return of the Living Dead DVD is great!

Picked up The Fog at Wal-Mart last night.
Haven't watched the movie, but the extras are great. It has everything from the laserdisc and a ton more. Pretty weak easter egg though.
Best part is the guy said it was $9.44, it rang up $14.44, but he knocked the $5 off anyway!

I went in today and saw Deranged/Motel Hell there, so I ran (literally) over to the R section. Rats, Reptilicus, Return of the Living Dead 3 - no ROTLD though. They had Attic/Crawlspace and Oblong Box/Scream and Scream Again also but none of the ones I need. So I went to a pawn shop and got Death Race 2000, Blood Simple and High Fidelity in mint condition for $9 a piece. Kinda dumb considering I'll be buying like 6 movies tomorrow and sneaking a copy of Blade 2 early on Wednesday but Blood Simple and High Fidelity are pretty high around here so I said what the hell.
So maybe there's hope of me find ROTLD tomorrow at Best Buy and not having to go to the godforsaken mall.

I hear ya. I can't stand malls myself. If I can't find a particular DVD at Best Buy, then I'll grudgingly go to the mall to see if they have a copy of what I'm lookin' for.

I don't mind the mall too much aslong as I don't have to go past Suncoast. Suncoast in my mall is like a 15 second walk from the front door to the store, but if I have to go there to get it and they don't have it and I have to actually walk around the store I'm kicking some ass. I'll be at Best Buy in about 14 hours. Wish me luck.

I'll be hunting tomorrow, and I imagine that between Best Buy and Frys Electronics, I'll find the new MGM discs. I'm also looking for the Retro Media Fangs of the Living Dead disc that is supposed to come out tomorrow.

My Best Buy had ROTLD & Last House in stock. (Only two copies each!):eek: I had fun watching two dipshits fighting over the last copy of ROTLD.:D Unfortunately, they didn't have Deranged/Motel Hell.:( Also got Reservoir Dogs (Mr. Pink) & The Thing for the PS2.

Best Buy didn't have ROTLD, (never saw that one coming) so I went to like 4 stores and finally found one single copy at Circuit City. It's my favorite movie so I figure I'm obligated to own my favorite movie the day it gets released. Thank god for Circuit City.

I got RD from Best Buy and got a $5 giftcard which I will be using on Motel Hell. I'm waiting on the Fog and am ordering Masque of the Red Death with my $10 digital coupon from Sleepaway Camp, which has still not shown up yet. I'll eventually get Teen Wolf also, just I have no money and way too many DVDs to watch, so the Fog can wait for a week or two.

Got ROTLD at Best Buy - but they didn't have LHOTL - the guy went back to look around and couldn't find it. No DERANGED/MOTEL HELL either. Saw THE FOG (didn't want it for some reason) and MORD/PREMATURE BURIAL, but that's it. I was kinda angry.

It's weird, I really still don't care for ROTLD much. The first time I figured maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but I just watched it again and I still don't know what all the fuss is about. And the end...I think is different than the one I saw on VHS. The VHS ending had like dark streets and shit...with a few zombies and a big bridge where they blocked off the zombies. Or fuck am I thinking of ROTLD2?.

Anyway...uh...yeah.

Yer thinking of ROLD 2 when they are at the power plant. ROLD 2 is another great flick which needs a dvd release. SE or not, they just need to put it out on dvd.

I decided to dig up another old thread. I was one of those who bought ROTLD for 20 bucks at Horrorfind, I didn't care, I love that movie so much. It was kind of like a sock in the stomach when I saw it at Best Buy for $9.99. I bought Last House and The Fog on their release dates so I got them for good prices. So who here is going to Horrorfind 2003? I know I am.
